pray for Guatemala

As I write this tears are streaming down my face, our adoption agency, All God's Children International, has announced they will not be issuing any referrals out of Guatemala, as of next week. Guatemalan President Oscar Berger plans to suspend all intercountry adoptions with American families.
My heart breaks for the 5,000 known children who are in need of families to adopt them, the government does NOT have the means to provide for these kids.
I have no idea what this means for my family, we have filled out paperwork twice now, paid twice and have waited twice-I know that God does have a plan, what it is right now I haven't a clue. Please pray for us, as a mom that has had 14 years of infertility and has had 10 years of waiting for a baby again...please hold me up in prayer. My heart is broken.
We are called to make phone calls to our Senators next week and various other "players" in this field, please pray that our voices are heard and that these precious children will find homes to call their own. This indeed is a crisis-
Lord God please hear our prayers and rescue these babes, we know you love them even more than we do. Please give wisdom to our countries officials and representatives as they make the decisions that need to be made. Father we are desperate for your help. Bless All God's Children and their ministry to this country, help them financially to care for those that come. Move in Power Holy Spirit. We thank you for answering our cries Lord.
We are called to defend the fatherless-they have no strength or power of their own-Lord help us to stand in the gap for them-let us indeed be your arms and legs to them. Give us strength, protection and wisdom, move the heart of President Berger to change his plans, we know God you are more than able, be glorified God.
In Jesus name, amen!

I am so sad for you! So are you just OUT the thousands of dollars you have paid in fees? This is why I am so leery of international adoption! I couldn't stand the heartbreak. I'll be praying that you get your referral before all is closed down and your Lambies are home quickly!

Praying for Guatemala, yes but totally interceding for you and your family. I can't imagine the hurt/pain/grief you feel right now but I'll agree together with you for a miracle!

Oh, sweet friend, I am so, so sorry. I'm crying for you.

God will not waste any of this; He is faithful and He hears our prayers. He has those little ones in His hands. Praying right now for you to feel the peace that passes ALL understanding. And I'm praying for a miracle.

Kimmie,

Dear sister, how my heart breaks for you. The road that God has called you to is filled with pain and suffering. Praying that God would wrap His loving and protective arms around you and carry you through it all. And praying that He hears the desires of your heart for another baby.

love,

NO. NO NO NO.

Oh, Kimmie. I can't even believe this. My heart is aching with you... and so many others...and all of the Guatemalan children who so desperately need families.

I'll be praying. We all will. For you, my friend-- He sees You; He knows your heart, He has heard your cries. Love you.

Oh Kimmie, I am so sorry and heart broken for you. But remember your own words, there is a reason for God's plan. He will turn this around for the good. Could it be that people are not aware of the situation in Guatemala? I mean to this degree? Maybe this is God's way of bringing the masses together to help these children. I'm sure I don't know but I'm sure He does. I'll pray honey. For everyone!

Love,
Julie

*sigh* I cried as I read this. My heart grieves with you. And I DO pray that our Father will wrap his arms around you...and each and every one of those 5,000 "known children". For HE DOES know them...and intends to adopt them.

Oh God. Make a way where there is no way.

It's later in the day now and just wanted you to know I'm still praying and still just in disbelief. I'm aching for you and for all the other waiting parents who already loved their children. Still praying for a miracle. Love you, Kimmie. God is bigger than this.

Oh hon...

I am so sorry. I pray that all this proves to be a "speed-bump" and that Guatemala actually tries to comply.

I know you are devastated and are questioning God's plan. From someone who has been there (more times than I care to say) please know that your tender heart is in my prayers today.

(((hugs)))

I´m so sorry to hear this. I did want to let you know that we just had elections here and Berger will be out of office January 12th. Let´s hope that the new president is smarter.

It seems that part of the issue is that many babies were being kidnapped and sold. I´m not sure how much this had to do with the new laws, but I do know that we have been seeing a lot of kidnapping rings being broken up on the news lately. I would like to encourage people to pray for the children who were taken from their families as well. Those in need of a home should certainly find one, but this is also something that needs to be sorted out.

Oh Kimmie...I am so sad about this! For you and for those babies...praying for you...right now.

My heart broke when I read your post. I pulled my computer a little bit closer, as if that would change the words on the screen. I will be praying for you, and your children that are not yet in your arms... may they be soon.

Thanks for the drop-by! I will certainly keep these little ones in my prayers, and you all as well. I used to teach English at an orphanage here in Taiwan. Those kiddos certainly tug at the heartstrings! Blessings to you and your ever growing family!

You don't know us. My wife and I were just beginning the process with AGCI when we got the news this week.

May God overwhelm you with His kindness.

Hey Bill and Lynn!

Thanks for dropping in...I tried to visit you, but I guess you are "private". ;-)

I pray that God blesses your journey to bringing your little one home...He is faithful and though yesterday my eyes were filled with tears and sorrow, today He has wiped my tears away, given me Hope and has whispered to me that He is at work. He has reminded me of his faithfulness and for the very reason of this blog that He has called me to....it is for his glory and that my little humble life would somehow (?) make an impact for Him.

God does not sleep, he does not slumber, His eyes run to and fro the earth, looking for those whose hearts are his and those he can show His power and favor to. I believe that is me (and you!)...though my heart aches to be able to hold that baby that it has longed for -I have seen His plan laid before me, I have seen those He has brought to my family. I have seen the perfect fit, like another of my fingers has fit into the glove that was made just for MY hand.

I encourage you to believe that He has good for you, thank you so much for letting me know that you are here and that we have those who will come and support our arms and legs when they need a bit of rest in our race.

I pray blessing over you as you embark in this awesome journey of adoption. Don't let your heart grow weary, but let it take encouragement from Him.

(my email is in my sidebar if you want to chat ;-)

Your tender, sincere heart always touches me, but this particular post is so poignant. I will pray, Kim, for what is happening in Guatemala. I will pray for those kids and for you.

Hi Kimmie.

I stumbled across your blog from Stacy's at "With Great Joy". My husband and I adopted two children from Guatemala through AGCI. My heart aches for you, and for the children of Guatemala. I will be calling/e-mailing who I need to per the direction of AGCI and Joint Council to rally for the waiting families and the children of Guatemala. I will be praying for everyone involved, including your sweet family.

God Bless You,
Amy

I just dropped by to see if you had moved up on the adoption list and read your heart stopping news. Although the news is so difficult, our Heavenly Father loves and cares for all His children and has a plan even in the midst of what looks impossible through our human eyes. We can trust Him!

Our family knows a church family currently serving in ministry in another state who have been moving forward in a Guatemalan adoption and I know this news must be shocking to them, too.

We'll be praying for all!

Blessings,

Oh, Kimmie...I am so very, very sorry! The pain of losing the child that you have dreamed into your family is so real, so painful. I feel your pain. It doesn't for a second make sense to us in our human minds...but His ways are not our ways...that is one thing I am learning for sure. The deep, deep love that you have in your heart for your Guatemalan baby is nothing compared to the love He has for those children. Know that He is working...we can't see what He is doing, but He is working. He is holding all of the dear orphans...our boys in Haiti that we lost, and your baby in Guatemala. He loves them, He cares for them. And in the midst of your pain...He loves you, He holds you. He will not forsake you! He is Sovereign! He is All-Knowing! He is Victorious!

Hugs my dear!!!!
