Did you hear that?

Conversation Monday at my house:

Prince Bonkie (4-the one who 'saw' our brown baby)-"Mama, MAMA, did you HEAR that?"

Me, the Mama, "What, did you hear something honey?"

Astonished look on the childs face, "Mama I heard it."

Mama, "What was it?"

The Prince,"It was a door and it opened in BWAT-ga-mala Mama. I just heard it."

*We had told our children that Guatemala was 'closed' a month ago, when our agency told us they would no longer be giving out referrals in their program in Guatemala. Hmm, tonight their Papa and I had dinner out (our kids were having their 'Harvest Party' at church, this was our first year in 12 years that we weren't helping to run it, but opted for dinner out alone.) We discussed what our agencies director told my husband yesterday (in a 45 minute phone call.) We were glad to have a few hours to discuss what the conversation entailed and what would be our current plan of action.

So the decision for now, 'is hold course' in Guatemala. The elections are next week, looks like we won't have a referral until after the New Year,(Guatemala is threatening to "close" by January 1st to all adoptions-if you believe them.) We are now #15 on the girls list.

As God didn't tell us what to do, and originally he told us Guatemala(2005)...we are walking (or waiting) the path. As we know we will be adopting, the timing and country remain in His hands. (as they always were.)

I suspect your little guy is right and you´ll find the door is going to be opened here. It´s looking more and more like Colon will get into office and he seems to be pro-adoption. This weekend the votes will decide!

Out of the mouths of babes, they say. I'm so glad that I didn't upset you or that you felt I wasn't "with you" in your prayers. Always know that I'm praying for you and your family.

Love,
Julie

How awesome!

i am looking forward to seeing your new babe from Guatemala and I pray about you all often. I think I have told you this before, but my grandma is 100% Guatemalan so I feel a bit of kinship about this situation. It feels very close to home!

It's so hard to be "waiting" on God for something, isn't it?? Praying that He would give you and your family the strength to continue on. Looking forward to seeing what the plans the God has for you are!

Blessings,
Jenny

Our four year old was our prophet in our adoption. I have no doubt that God would speak through a child. I've seen it first hand. I pray that your little prince really did hear that door open.

Blessings--and continuing to lift your family up in prayer,
Michelle

Hi Kimmie!
Don't you love it when God speaks to us through our children! What better way for Him to get our attention than through our heartstrings. Your little guy is very in tune with spiritual things. I'll be praying for you!
Love, Velvia

Praying everything works out and Guatamala will not close to adoption. I know so many families that hearts would be broken by this decision.

I know God has great things planned for your family.
