Silence from the mountain top

Yup, the title pretty much tells it like it is. We didn't hear from God, we expected to, we positioned ourselves to hear his voice, however it might come, but I must say we are still in listening position.

Thanks so much for taking time to pray for us, I know we have so many standing in this battlefield with us. I am so happy that God told me to blog, I have so much encouragement and support through all of you, my new friends and family.

On our 3 hour ride home from the mountain top, I thought my 4 year old had a prophetic word for us. I asked them if any of them (my 6 kids who went with us) had 'heard' anything from God, now I must tell you that I do believe that God can use many ways to speak to us today, yes his Word (the bible), yes his people (believers), yes dreams, yes unbelievers...and yes, I do believe that you need wisdom and discernment (and an obedient spirit) to hear from heaven. The list I just gave you is not the only ways, just the ways that I personally have experienced in my lifetime.

Back to King Bonkey (4), from his middle row carseat he says, "Mama, God is going to bring us a brown baby," "Yup, a black-brown baby, for us. And...we will be able to keep her."

Now this seems like a word of the Lord, but upon more drilling, it took a bit to draw him out...it seems that he saw me looking at the computer at some point last week (though I honestly don't remember him ever "looking" at any adoption pages with me), but this is where his statement stemmed from, big sigh.

We are hoping to talk to SOMEONE at our agency this week, in regards to "our situation" with the wait list and what it would entail to switch programs at this point (we started this in 2005-took 10 months off to adopt the "surprise" group, then had to redo every piece of required paperwork to get us going again).

Honestly, switching programs is not what we are praying for, the amount of work is HUGE and this would be the third time we had to go through 'redo.' The majority falls on my dear Knight, who also runs a solo practice, which requires and demands of his attention. As I deeply love my man, I don't wish to put him back under the piles of required paperwork, unless clearly the Lord tells us.

I'll let you know what the agency tells us, if we 'hear', I am sure you will hear me from whereever it is you are reading this from.

Waiting, believing and hearing all require our full attention and devotion, no time for weak knees or tear stained pillowcases. Bless you for encouraging us and for approaching the throne of grace on our behalf.

God is good.

Isaiah 49:8 (The Message Bible)

God also says:
"When the time's ripe, I answer you. When victory's due, I help you.

Numbers 9:8 (NIV)

And Moses said to them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you.

Dueteronomy 30:8-16

8And you shall return and obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today.

9And the Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, of your cattle, of your land, for good; for the Lord will again delight in prospering you, as He took delight in your fathers,

10If you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with all your being. (including your ears!-)
11For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off.
12It is not [a secret laid up] in heaven, that you should say, Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it?

13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear and do it?

14But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.

15See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil.

16[If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which] I command you today, to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land into which you go to possess.

Emily is right, you deserve some peace. Thanks for taking the time to enjoy my long walk and for leaving a comment. I'm actually copying from an account of the walk that I wrote shortly after completing it all those years ago, I used to write about all my walks. Bob.

Your faith and hope in the Father is so unwavering. Something we all need to see in this day. Thanks for keeping us in on your 'life story'!

Hi Kimmie!
I know you're disappointed that you didn't hear from God this weekend, but we know the answer is coming! I stand with you in prayer for His wisdom and direction. Sometimes, He trusts us with His silence(as hard as that is for us). Hang in there! Love, Velvia

Hi Kimmie :) Am keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers, and it is a joy to read about your heart trusting, trusting Him.

Have I shared this with you before? One of my life verses, and one that is most precious to my heart...

Psalm 130:5-6 says, “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.”

Love you so! Q

Kimmie, This morning as I was getting ready I was thinking about your family. And the comment I left the other day and I realized that God might not have peace as an answer for you right now…..and it looks like that is where He has left you. As Carlos said today, “the answer is yes, no or not right now! The wait is the hardest answer of all!

I'm praying and believing with you b/c God is who he says he is, eh?

...and maybe your 4 yr old DID hear from the Lord, regardless of whether he said he saw you looking at the computer or not.

If I were in your position, I'd imagine that my emotions would be so jumbled and tense that I wouldn't trust myself to hear the full, untainted heart of God. (untainted, meaning without my twist on things added in). You know? So maybe God spoke to the heart of a child because your 4 year old isn't carrying around the stress and anxiety???

Anyway...just encouraging you not to discount what he said.

Prayers*

To what K B said in india we would say,' May there be butter and sugar in your mouth ' The Lord will lead you towards His plan for your life.

Not what we were hoping for, eh? God's timing is so far above our own schedule. He is never late, but rarely early. My prayer is that you WILL have peace, even in this uncertainty.

Hi Kimmie,

I have been reading your blog for a couple of months. Found you through my cousin's blog. Anyway, wanted to let you know that I have been praying for your situation and to let you know what an encouragement your faith is to me. I love your tender heart for the Father and your honesty on these "pages."

Sarah...

Thank you so much for your prayers, tell Carlos that he is very wise. I love looking at your beautiful children...such love and joy in their faces! Hope your pregnancy is filled with all the bountiful blessings that God intended for you-your story makes my heart skip.(for those of you who want to meet Sarah...go to my friends list...to House of Smooches)

Praying that we hear from God...I know we won't miss him and that He will make it perfectly, peacefully clear...as He knows exactly what we need and what is required to get an adoption done (including redo-ing paperwork for a new country.)

Kimmie,
Can I ask you a question without offending you in any way. Is it possible, that the delay in the adoption, this past weekend, etc is God's way of telling you another adoption is not in His plan for you?

I certainly don't want to offend you in anyway. You know I've been praying for peace and resolution for you and your family. But, instead of waiting for God's answer to another adoption, maybe He has already given it to you? I certainly have no answers I was just wondering if that is a possibility. Have you considered that option?

Still praying for you and your family. And again, please know that it was never my intention to upset you.

Love,
Julie

Sorry your weekend didn't turn out like you had hoped.

In the waiting and silence something amazing truly does happen. I know you know this! Keep pressing on waiting expectantly for the Lord to reveal Himself and then His plan to you!

Hugs from one waiting mama to the next,
Laura

The Lord IS leading you. This is all going to fall into place, I just know it.
Don't focus your attention on one child or one agency or one people group. The Lord will open a door that NO man can close and you guys will walk right through it!

Blessings,
Sue
