Fluminaria and other thoughts

We are a little off here still -praise God, my family is feeling well. But my flu is really hanging on.
I have decided that when a child of God gets the flu...it is no longer the flu, but becomes
'fluminaria'....meaning you have the sickness, however you are still filled with Light. I find it hard to be luminescent when everything seems to be falling apart around me. God is reminding me that though I am sick, He is still with me and in me.
Unlike a fireplace, that is only blazing when we light it-my soul has God's light embedded by the Holy Spirit.
Now, this year it is my hearts desire to keep that fire (of the Holy Spirit) blazing within. I desire to walk close to my God and to allow Him to guide my every step. How is your light within? How is your time with the Lord? How is your devotions? Your bible study? Your prayer time? How is your godly vision? Have you been hearing His voice (in your heart)?
I am encouraging you to do some spiritual house cleaning, to sweep away the cobwebs and dust that comes into all of our lives. Let's seize the day (even if we have fluminaria) and let us not look back a month from now and wish we had started out this New Year differently. Now is the time. I encourage each of you to go out and get a NOTEBOOK...begin to write down your vision for this year (goals, aspirations), write down your prayer requests, your praises, things you are thankful for, and then leave space to LISTEN to what God is going to be saying to YOU!
Don't loose me now...believe that He is the same yesterday, today and forever and ask Him to bring you to a place where you can hear him, BECAUSE, if you can hear Him-you can follow Him with a greater confidence.
I plan to become a 'cling-on' this year, because God has great things in store for me (and YOU!)
Can't wait to hear what He speaks to you, write every word down and I promise you are going to be blessed! *keep a little notebook in your purse (car or jacket), as I have learned that sometimes He speaks when I am away from where I can write it down-then later I am trying to remember
exactly what it was that He said.
Are you with me?
Psalm 46:10
Be still and know that I am God.

Kimmie, yes the Holy Spirit is definately speaking to my heart. Writing it down is a good idea.

I do hope you are on the mend really soon from your fluminaria . ..

Kimmie, sorry you are still a little under the weather and hope you are on the mend when you read this.
I like your notebook suggestion....I'm keeping a gratitude journal...it helps me truly realize how blessed I am.
You asked about my banner - I can't remember where I found it but it was at some free site. I've had it saved for about 3 months with the idea of using it during our winter months. I really like it too. Thank for the sweet comments...Linda

Yes, this is my focus for the year too. I feel like I have slipped away from God a bit and want to be back by His side.

For the last couple of months I have been dealing with a difficult person and have only been really praying about it for the last couple of days. Yesterday I felt Him telling me what to do. I did it and almost immediately a load was gone. I really felt the burden lifted! I love that when we look to Him, he leads us in all things!

My prayer journals are one of my most cherished possessions. I so enjoy looking back over the years and seeing how the Lord has changed me and answered so many prayers along the way.

Fluminaria - I think I shall never forget that!

Hi Kimmie!
Wow, what a great post! This is exactly what God has been speaking to my heart, allowing Him to rekindle the flame in my heart. There have been so many times when I have read one of your posts and it reaffirmed what God was trying to tell me. Thank you for allowing God to use you. I pray you and your family recover quickly. Love, Velvia

I love reading back over my prayer journals. You have inspired me to pick it up with more gusto. Also, to pray with specifics. Sometimes my specifics can seem like a Santa Claus wish list, I need to balance it with a repentant heart and truly asking my Friend for what is in His will.

Are you feeling better yet?
