Sharing my sweet Hallie with you...

Cookies from Hallie

This is a God thing and I share this story in hopes that it brings encouragement to you (my friends), who may be praying for a God-sent friend. Sometimes we pray for what seems like a lifetime for God to send us a special friend, sometimes out of deep sorrow, we stop asking or believing for such a thing. Then the 'suddenly' of God occurs and smack-dab out of nowhere there appears 'just what your heart desired'. It has only been since August of 2007 that we had our first face to face, you see we had a mutual blogfriend-matchmaker Cindy, who knew both of us had a little empty spot in our lives that she thought the other could fill. Oh, how right my sweet Cindy was.

Now the photos I will share are all from the blessings of Hallie...when she heard I was sick, she (being sick too), hustled her bum over to the Whole Foods Market, in search of the perfect fare for a vegetarian soup. Hmm, it was so yummy. She put in so many wonderful tasty veggies, plus my very favorite ZUCCHINI! Can you say yum?

For Christmas with her own two hands, she designed a beautiful sign to adorn my wall...it is amazingly beautiful, sentimental and such an encouragement to me in this endless adoption waiting game that my Knight and I are playing. Every detail of the sign is done to perfection, the little hearts that have numbers 5-12 painted on a side-are a reminder that God is still at work and can indeed bring us 12 adopted children IN THIS LIFETIME. ;-) Sweet Hallie, apologized for not going higher with the numbers (she knows my heart), but assured me that she could make more when they are needed. What a tender sweetheart she is, huh?

Can I also tell you that she has twice been by my side when I had to put King Meemer (5) in an ambulance. God knew I needed her, and made sure she was by my side with each situation that needed an E.M.T. trained person. How cool that she was able to use her skill to bless me, though truly I hope to never need her in that capacity ever AGAIN.

Hallie is so sweet, creative, fun, hard-working, kind, loving, generous, tender...needless to say gorgeous. She is definitely a "keeper," and how blessed am I to have God sneak up and smack me with a dear friend like Hallie. *Did I also say that she has 2 very sweet daughters? Her 14 year old I could just hold and never let go and her 2 year old is such a little bundle of joy...so fun when we plunk our crews together. Our 14 year old daughters are dear friends too now...sweet, huh?!

God has put us together, plopped us in His Word together, placed us in the same church (at the same service!) and given us so many similar interests to share...did I also say that we go to the gym together? (okay, when we manage to get to the gym!)

I don't know WHY God suddenly brought Hallie into my heart, I certainly don't deserve her, but my heart is swooning in joy for her friendship and for the bits of time each week that we get to spend together. Yup, it is a story with a very happy ending indeed.

*Hallie has a cool bookstore too....check it out...Blue Thistle Books!

She is now a *BRIGHT RED* Hallie too! I am totally embarrassed by your post dear friend. And you should know that what you have given me, your prayers, your gifts, your guidance, your acceptance, your care of my wee ones, your godly influence and your deep faith, far outweigh any small gift that I could have given you! When God answers prayers, He answers BIG! I am so thankful for you and your family. You have blessed us all far beyond measure.

Hey "stumbled" on you via a blog, to a blog, to a...lost count, but am inspired by your family! Our 5 year old daughter is from China and we in the process right now of training through our state foster system for a sibling group. We are so excited (and nervous!) about the children coming to us and I LOVE seeing your family built this way! I will surely be back for more! ; )

What a blessing. I love how God has plopped friends in my life. Years ago, my four year old son was sad because he didn't have a best friend. (I was hurting because my dearest friend had just moved away.) I told my son to start praying for a friend. Just a few months later, a family moved in next door to us. Their oldest and my boy became the best of friends. (His mama and I became the best of friends too.) The boys are now sixteen and live half a country apart, but still have so much in common. I have no doubt that if they were to cross paths again, they would be able to pick up where they left off. I love to remind my son of how God answered his little boy prayers and am so thankful for the 'bonus' friend He sent to heal my broken heart.

You have no idea how this post has encouraged me. I have been in a God-appointed season of loneliness. He is teaching me to go to Him first before my friends. It's always been my instinct to call for support and guidance from friends and while this is a good practice, God wants me to go to Him FIRST. In the meantime, I am praying for a friend like Hallie has been to for you.

So nice to see all the glory given to God for all of the happenings in our lives. May our Father continue to bless you.

How wonderful that God blessed you with such a dear friendship. I am still waiting on one of those.
We order from a food co-op, too. We are supposed to get a Sam's about 20 min. from home, so we are looking forward to it. We eat Stoneyfield yogart, too!
Your daughter is beautiful. Happy Belated Birthday to her. Isn't it so amazing to watch our mother/daughter relationships turn into friendships, too?

Hi Kimmie,
You deserve Haillie as a friend because you are very kind yourself. As they say, birds of the same feathers attract each other. God has blessed you because you have a heart of gold yourself. I would like to be your friend too. Thanks for the feel good post. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Thanks for sharing your God-sent friend story. Having moved just less than a year ago, I can say the Lord has blessed me with an incredible new friend when I wasn't even expecting one. Sounds a lot like your Hallie story.

May you continue to make many wonderful memories as your friendship grows.
