Prayer Request Sunday

Hi friends~ hope you had a good week. Ours was definitely well rounded and full of divine appointments! I am very excited about what the Holy Spirit has been leading me into-giving me the opportunity to ask many, "May I pray with you?"
I don't know if you remember a few weeks back I went to a weekend seminar at my church. That weekend I met a Chinese woman and her husband. They let us into their beautiful home and asked us to pray for their two small children who had some eye problems that required surgery. I knelt and prayed, laying hands on the two sweet little wee ones. My prayer wasn't very articulate, I stumbled and was nervous. I had never prayed for anyone this way before (by knocking on the door). We thanked them and left, or so I thought.
A week later the Holy Spirit directed me to go and buy them a blanket. I quickly went from store to store to find the blanket that I had been shown. I wrapped it up and wrote out a card with the words that God had placed on my heart. Two weeks had gone by and I had continued to pray for the family.
I was met by the warm spirited husband and the children, as I knocked again at their door. He smiled and remembered me, again asking me to step inside. I handed him the gift and he told me that they were Christians and that they had been transferred here last year. He shared that they attended a Chinese church about 30 minutes from their home. We chatted for a few minutes and again he thanked me. I left wondering what God was going to do. God had told me to write that He had them 'covered.' Now, knowing that they were indeed Christians, that made more sense.
In the card was an invitation to our Beth Moore Bible study, Stepping Upward and my phone number. It was Saturday, we were beginning on Tuesday morning.
The week went by and I continued to pray, though no phone call had come.
The following Saturday I came home to a phone message! She wanted to come to bible study! I was a bit concerned about her missing the first week already, so I grabbed a book for her at church and dropped it off Sunday on the way home. (remember they live in our church neighborhood). As I handed her the book, she thanked me and told me she thought I was an angel sent by God. I laughed and told her no. She learned that my children would be running the nursery during bible study and asked 'if ' we homeschooled.
You see, they wanted to homeschool, but they were afraid. They speak Chinese and were concerned if they would be able to teach with 'English' curriculum.
God sent me to tell them they were covered, with a new white blanket as an illustration.
Oh, and their daughter who I had prayed for on March 17th...well, the surgery that was scheduled for last Friday was CANCELLED. Why? Well, because God began to touch the tumor and everyday it got smaller, the surgeon cancelled the surgery. CAN I TELL YOU WE WERE REJOICING! And because the surgery was cancelled on April 26th...well, they were able to go to the Christian Homeschool Convention that my family had told them about. Sounds like God, eh?
Is that cool or what. Thank you God. More Lord!
Can I pray for you? God is on the move-He has been whispering to me.
1 Colossians 1:27-29

To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

For which I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Wow, Kimmie! I love that. God is so good! Directing you to get a blanket, with a word about His covering, leading you into this family's life... He is so good to so tenderly look after His sheep.

He's got you just as covered, sweet Kimmie. And your child(ren) in Ethiopia, too. This entire adoption process.

(((Love you!)))

What a neat story! Thanks for sharing it and encouraging me today that indeed God still does answer prayer. We continue to ask you to pray for us that God would lead us to our Liberian daughters, whoever they are. And that through all of this, we would experience more of Jesus in our hearts and lives.

You are a blessings,
Jenny

THUD. Did you HEAR that??? Um. It was the sound of my jaw. Hitting the floor.

Our pastor was so ANOINTED this morning as he spoke about listening.

What a beautiful confirmation your post is to me of a faithful God who SPEAKS over us and CREATES in us that which He has spoken into our lives.

THANK YOU for your obedience. And for your humility. I gotta' say I'm sick to death of "pretty little perfect life" blogs. So, thanks for keeping it real.

I'm READING. Bookmarking you now.

Kimmie, I am so moved by your report!

God desires obedient vessels to be His hands extended. Obedience. Such a simple thing, yet so many of us struggle with it. How awesome for that family that you did as God led you to do, even stepping outside your comfort zone to do it. That's when He steps in and takes over and does miraculous things. Praise His Mighty Name!!!

That really was amazing. But you know, it shouldn't be. I should be listening intently for the Father's voice, because He wants to talk to me, as you've said before. I'm thankful that you keep puttin' it out there, spurring me on. Your story did give me chills! How exciting to obey even when it doesn't really make sense, then to receive the revelation in the end.

Hi Kimmie...I don't remember where I came across your blog, but added you to my bloglines a week or two ago.
I have a prayer request for you. MY MIL is scheduled to have her leg amputated this thursday. She keeps getting blood clots in it and they do surgery to clean it out. They have decided that they cant do this anymore and the leg has to come off. I know that God can heal her...for goodness sakes he raises the dead!
Thank you so much!!
Blessings to you.
:)
