Prayer Request Sunday- Am I called to adoption?

Morning friends! Can I pray for you this week, leave me a comment or send me an email and I will be happy to pray for you.
Thanks for all your prayers and encouragement this past week. It truly blessed my heart to know that God has sent so many to believe with us not only for the adoption of *Little Beauty*, but for being intercessors for the orphans and the situation with adoptions worldwide.
Have YOU asked God if he wants you to adopt?
Have you ? Yesterday's post won't leave my head or spirit, I feel as if God has called me to be a cheerleader for adoption. Do you know that an adoption through your state system (here in Connecticut it is called Department of Children and Families: D.C.F.) is very affordable. Our adoption of Princess Sunshine cost all of $150.00 the day at court when we were sworn in as her new parents. Our 'triplets' adoption (our three wee ones) was no cost at all. The state also offers the kids insurance. even post adoption. While you are doing foster care (prior to adoption) the state gives you a monthly stipend to help you to care for the children. Sometimes this continues even after adoption, depending on the needs of the children.
Will you be bold and seek God on whether that 7% that I am praying and believing to come forward, to stand in the gap for the orphans around the world...is perhaps you?
You'd be amazed at how many people tell me that they feel adoption is in their future, but haven't asked God to give them His timeline. I am a firm believer of 'running' straight into it...if God doesn't want you to, He will shut the door. Begin to walk out the steps, call your state agency, go to the first orientation meeting (ITS FREE)...begin praying and see what the Holy Spirit begins doing.
I am passionate about orphans, my friends this week told me that perhaps I will never meet another, who is as passionate as I am about it. So forgive me for 'coming at you' ...but when I look at the situation around the world and my state, I am so angry. I am angry that the devil is going to hold these innocent children in darkness, I am *spitting mad* and I am tired of his evil games.
These are just innocent children, they have suffered all kinds of loss and harm, they just want to be loved, just like you and me. They want to know that they have worth, that someone loves them...we are called to love one another as we have been loved (by God). You can do it, it isn't hard-God will send you support-you won't have to do it alone...I PROMISE. I will be here for you and God will bring others around you to help you walk it out.
BUT
it all starts with you asking the Father if its "YOU," He is calling. PLEASE, ask Him, PLEASE seek Him on it...and please, come tell me WHEN you hear what it is that HE wants you to do. Because as Believer's He does want us to **Do** something...
(here ar 3 versions of the same verse...)
James 1:27 (Contemporary English Version)
Religion (worship) that pleases God the Father must be pure and spotless. You must help needy orphans and widows and not let this world make you evil.
New Living Translation:
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

The Message (1:27)
Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless (widows and orphans) in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.
Please take 5 minutes to listen to John Pipers message on adoption, he is saying what my heart is screaming.

Oh how I would love to adopt again, but Rod isn't ready ... yet!

I have a request for PRS. I say that we homeschool, but in BC there are two different ways to do it, and we are technically distributed learners which means we are funded by, and accountable to, the provincial government. I've been thinking lately that maybe we should make the switch to real homeschooling (no accountability to gov. and way less $$). Rod surprised me by saying he agreed, so now we have to pray pray pray. We'll fulfill our obligation for this year and see on next year.

Thanks for praying! I've still got you in mine!

Yesterday I came here two or three times and each time my computer would lock up. I could not comment; I could not email from here. It was so odd. And then it made sense. The enemy loves to thwart, doesn't he? But he can't thwart our prayers! Our prayers go directly to the THRONE! And pray I did. And pray I will continue. You keep cheerleading and I'll keep praying!

Blessings,
Tammy ~@~

I know I'm young and sometimes I feel like I can't do the things I so desperatly want to do because I'm still too young.
my oldest sister adopts as you know and I was only 10 when Inga was born. Their adoptions have played an enormous part in my life and numerous times I have told family and friends that I want to adopt.
but my heart isn't called to adoption in the same passionate way that yours is. What I see in your passion for adopting is the same passionate feelings I have towards young children who have been abused. I feel that thats my calling and has been for many years. I get that *spitting mad* feeling and yet such a huge love for them and a desire to hold them and protect them and rescue them all.
"These are just innocent children, they have suffered all kinds of loss and harm, they just want to be loved, just like you and me. They want to know that they have worth, that someone loves them...we are called to love one another as we have been loved (by God)."
EXACTLY.
hopefully, God will provide me with a husband so that I too can adopt. until then, I just have to find other ways to be an advocate.
My nephew, Sam, was one of the last kids out of Russia. I hate the thought that we might not have gotten him. I may not be able to adopt right now but I will keep praying for your family and for ethiopia and for all the children that need homes and families that will love them and protect them. And I'll keep praying for the kids in america who are being neglected and abused even when no one knows.
My heart goes out to you. may God provide you with comfort even in such an uncomfortable time.

Since 2005 my husband and I have been foster parents in NY. After 4 bio girls I am patiently waiting for God to fulfill the desire HE has given me. The desire to adopt 2 boys. Twins or brothers or 2 boys close in age. Please keep me in your prayers as I am SOOO impatient. :) Thanks...
God Bless...

we tried to say after fostering for 5 years,"God, we know you don't want us to adopt, just provide a safe place til someone else adopts them, our kids are grown & gone". God said,"No, this is your son, love him & raise him to be a man after My own heart"
We said, NOOO, people not looking to adopt, dont' just have healthy baby boys dropped on their door step. God said,"yes they do, I just did it for you!"
Our baby boy will be 3 in a few weeks. What a blessing he is!
Thank you God for giving us this boy.

Enjoyed your blog tonight. We do feel called to adopt. We have had to move around a lot due to my husband's career...but hope to be settled this summer finally after a long road---we have tried to start the process several times but moving around doesn't seem to work with adoption. So excited to hopefully start the process this summer. Still praying for direction..the process confuses me. Wow, so have you gone through different agencies each time?

I know this is an older post of your but I'm so thankful to have found it. We have recently begun thinking about fostering or adopting. I've contacted Dept of Social Services here and we can't foster because of our housing/bedroom situation. Small house with only 2 bedrooms, our 3 children (ages 1-6) share a bedroom. So we've begun praying about adoption. So far it looks like we do not qualify to adopt internationally because my husbands salary is too low, even though we own our home, no mortgage. We would qualify to adopt through Social Services. To be totally honest it does make me nervous to adopt an older child, as many through the foster system are. So I am encouraged to find you blog and read about your journey.
