Ethiopia on my heart

Everything is starting to blurr...time is whipping by, we are practically counting the seconds until we grab those bags and plop ourselves on a plane heading toward Addis Ababa, capitol of Ethiopia. There, 2 blocks from our hotel (The Union), is a tiny little baby girl (8 months old). God has been preparing her heart, we've asked Him to send her dreams of us, beginning the bonding process before we even step into her life in the physical. How sweet to hear her 5 year old brother, King Bonkie, bow his head and pray to his Father, asking for dreams for his wee sister, dreams of us holding her and kissing her, so she won't be afraid.
Our hearts are at perfect peace, because we know the Maker of the Universe, we also know His only Son Jesus and because of our relationship with Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit filling us and directing our every breath. We know that our God is BIG, we know that He ordained this adoption since the beginning of time. You see this was His idea, his plan for not only my life, but for that Little Beauty in Ethiopia, who He is now preparing for us.
The kids are excited, daily they have prayed for her.
Pirate Jacky is knitting wee squares like crazy, as she wants to bless her newest sister with a warm hand made covering of love. Each of the squares is unique, each has been lovingly prepared and prayed over by our sweet 17 year old daughter. A labor of love, but really this is what adoption is all about. Adoption is work, adoption is faith in action, it is taking God at His word and we are walking it out in the physical, believing that commiting our lives to James 1:27 is not only blessed by God, commissioned by God, a real way of putting our faith out so the world can see, and God can be glorified.
Did I say we are excited? WE are and we sleep in peace and rise with thanksgiving on our hearts and lips.
Won't you consider adoption? Ask God, let Him open the doors, don't let excuses or time stand in your way, don't say I can't afford it (who can?)-there are so many who need a family; who wait in orphanages or in the foster care system. They want to be loved, they want to know they have worth, that they are not a mistake, that God loves them and has a plan for their lives...won't you see if God wants your life and your home for His purposes ?
James 1:27 (Amplified Bible)
External religious worship religion as it is expressed in outward acts that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.

I'm so excited to grow up, so that I can adopt! I live to hear these stories and to help them end the stories with "...and they all lived happily ever after" I'm so happy for you and pray that you're journey will, too, have a fairy-tale ending!

I pray these last few days go by quickly for you. Before you know it, you'll be on a plane to Ethiopia. Thanks for the heads up on the bible study.
