Would you know Him?

This morning I was reading this in Mark.

I never realized that Jesus chose to walk by them, giving them the opportunity to call to Him; to trust Him.

Instead of trusting Him, though they had just learned from the previous day ...that He was the Son of God (or perhaps they should have had a HUGE clue)...they instead chose fear. They reverted back to their own smallness. They chose to let fear lead them into thinking about 'ghosts :which translates spirits.' They allowed their circumstances lead them, instead of their faith.

They hadn't called to Him, but Jesus knew. He came to where they were, but chose to walk by them....letting them get their fear out...how, by simple recognition. Recognition of who He was. That recognition, cast the fear out, no longer were they letting their wandering minds draw up scary spirits to distract them.

Do you have fears today? Are you caught up in life's circumstances? He is standing very near to you and just waiting for you to recognize who He is. He will come to you. He will bring you what you need...

Him!

Oh, Lord. Let me not choose fear over you, help me not lean back into my own understanding, but help me today (and tomorrow) to acknowledge You in all my ways (my very life)...so that You WILL direct my paths.

I just read through all four gospels last month and I picked up on this also. It was really amazing to me how the apostles struggled so with trust. Very interesting.

Great post Kimmie.

Such a timely post for me - I have a lot of fears in my head with our upcoming trip to Hungary! I am not a great traveler and HATE flying, but I know we are firmly in HIS hands and I'll be spending lots of time in the word to prepare for our trip. btw - the 6 yr old made the cut and is coming with us. :)
