Cleaning day

Just popping in for a moment of fresh air.

I have been trying to do all of my normal activities today: like being the mama, homeschool teacher, baby slinger, meal preparer, closet cleaner, seasonal clothes switcher and the one that is currently pushing me over the edge...move the storage from one attic of the house, to the other.
However I am not doing well on keeping up on my blog post for today. I really missed it and wondered how all my friends were today.

My Knight and I are going to be putting an additional bedroom on our house, to move Pirate Jacky and Fozzdike (Princess Sparky of younger day) into...thus freeing up a bedroom in the main house area. Are you still with me?

We are taking the storage area over our garage (considered a bonus room by some) and having it changed into a bedroom. Problem being is that all our storage has been here since we moved in 4 years ago. Problem truly being, is that I save WAY too much. Today I loaded up the garbage cans, 3 very large garbage bags full of donations, a bag to take to our cabin in the woods and have relocated several others into our living room space to consolodate.

It is amazing what you can let go of when you realize that you haven't used it in 4 years. My bigger question to myself is, 'Why was I keeping it in the first place?'

Time to go, my Knight has brought down a few more bins for me to rid ourselves of. The inspiration is ....

an empty bedroom to fill with MORE children.

But I bet you guessed that already, huh?

What a great inspiration - but what a busy time for you at the moment. Hope the cleaning out & renovations go smoothly.
When you have time I have a home schooling question - how long each day do you homeschool for?
Hope you have a lovely day!

Hi Kimmie
I hope your cleaning day went well and you didn't work too hard. It sounds like you had a good clear out of stuff. That's something we need to do desperately. I am in the middle of wallpapering and just having a break. Good luck with converting your storage area. Will you be posting pictures? I would love to see.
Best Wishes
Lindsay

Sounds like fun. I've been decluttering and have asked myself the same question...why did I save this stuff...but I am trying to take on the idea of a friend of mine, who saves nothing (due to a small house and lots of kids). She doesn't even save clothes from child to child. She told me once, "God has promised to feed and clothe us. I have no room to save, so I trust He will provide any clothing we will need." She was right and shared stories of how when she did need things for the children, God provided through garage sales, thrift shops and hand me downs from family or friends. She has the best dressed kids I've seen. Sometimes I feel like my saving stuff is like not trusting him. It's a balance...to be a good steward and trust God to provide...:-) Okay...way deeper than I wanted to go today! May God richly bless you and your plans of adding more children! (By the way, have you ever heard of anyone adopting from Chile?)

Oh Kimmie...is there an announcement pending?!

We are going through the same process here with our move. We have some boxes that haven't been opened in the last two moves. Clearly, we couldn't possibly NEED these items if we don't even remember what's inside the boxes. I have created ruts in the road between our home and the Goodwill donation center with all the back and forth.

You've inspired me. Time to get off the computer and back to work! :)

Thank you so much for your beautiful message on my blog, Kimmie. It touched my heart so.

With Love and Prayers,
Amy
