Found this treasure in our attic cleaning...

I have a love/dislike relationship with cleaning. Oh so good to be clean and magazine shoot ready, but so miserable to put the pedal to the metal and actually do it. Yesterday we began to empty our attic area to make room for an expansion of living space: meaning more bedrooms (from 4 to 5).
As we speak my house is topsy-turvy with bins that need to be sorted, analyzed and regrouped (garbage, give away, save). Maybe later I will go throught the rooms with a camera, if I am feeling particularly brave.
In the cleaning madness, we came across this. One of our children gave this to us back as we waited on God for funds for our Guatemalan adoption. You see, we stepped out in faith, believing God would meet our financial needs. We prayed as a family for the need.
God moved the heart of our then 11 year old daughter to give all she had saved in her piggy bank (which was this little box she made). She not only gave all of her money, but gave us her box as well. As you can imagine, her parents wept.
What a precious memory we have, the money helped in bringing home sweet baby Mercy. And our daughter learned a life lesson, to give out of the heart and to give God all that you have. He will bless it and multiply it for the furtherance of His Kingdom. Nevermind that in turn He will meet your every need and keep your 'wells full.'
Wonder what kind of miracle God will do to bring home our 'next children.'

Emily~

Yup, our Hungarian beauty.

In the orphanage at 14 months old, (not walking or talking yet)...when one of the other babies she was with would cry, she would crawl over to their crib and put her wee arms through the crib bars. She would stroke them and sit as long as needed, continuing to let them know that she was with them.

One boy would bang his head repeatedly (through his crib) on the wall. Our sweet baby never failed to stop her baby play to make sure her mate was okay, coaxing him into peace.

Hmmm, perhaps a nurse in her future? Or a servant of the most High, for sure!

She definitely is our most affectionate child and one who encourages us when the chips are down.

I love this little treasure you found in your attic! I will be thinking of you and especially of the orphans in Hungary as I visit this month! Thank you for the encouraging notes you have left me.

I LOVE this! God has called us to step out in faith for finances for all three of our adoptions. We longed to adopt for years before we did, but God always said "NO" having us use our money(from then a 2 income household) to go on short term mission trips. He didn't give us the go-ahead for adoption until we had quit our jobs, sold our home, moved to another state and into full-time ministry. It was then with no money that He told us it was time to adopt!? I'm so grateful we didn't question Him, and obeyed. We were able to witness His faithfulness to bring us our baby, and the money we needed to fascilitate the adoption - we just had to step out in faith. It has been the same with our other two adoptions, and each time He has provided in a different way. On paper... looking at our finances, we should not have been able to adopt three times - but with God all things are possible! We also can't wait to see how He grows our family, and once again provides all we need!
Thanks for sharing your story of provision... I will look forward to watching as God grows your family too! :)
