Spiritual Gifts...

The older I get, the more I wonder about the spiritual gifts that God has given me.
I know that I have the gift of encouragement, but scripture tells us that gift is plural.
Do you know what your spiritual gifts are and would you share them here?

I really don't know what they are. I always felt that God gave me the gift of being mom. But I know spiritual gifts are specific right? So I just don't know...

I like your blog though, and will come back again. Please feel welcome to drop in and visit me as well! :)

ONe gift I have been given is the gift of discernment. I used to be able to freak out my classmates in high school because I could tell what religion they were raised, even when I didn't know them. NOt to make it into a "cheap party trick", but it was interesting. ONe time I was visiting a church and leaned over to my mom and said, "that little girl in the choir with the yellow pigtails is a Mormon. Let's pray for her." Mom thought I was nuts. Ends up the choir leader came up to my Mom after the service, pointed her out, and asked us to pray for "the little Mormon girl who is visiting here today." I'm pretty good at determining character and motive, too ~ and just knowing that something "isn't right".
Not sure how the Lord will use that in my life, but I'm grateful to have it!
I try to not be too dogmatic about spiritual gifts because I always remember that Moses was asked to speak to Pharoah even though he didn't have the "gift" of speech. Sometimes God asks you to do something that you are not at all gifted for ~ just to show His power and to see if you will actually do it!!

It does seem that some spiritual gifts are evident to us and other spiritual gifts are evident to others who know us...if that makes any sense?

Sweet friend, I am learning with you. Seeking the Lord and asking to unwrap more of HIs gifts in my life.

Equipping gifts (Eph. 4:11) I am a teacher.

Supernatural gifts (1 Cor. 12 7-11) I have unwrapped the gifts of prophecy, discerning of spirits, speaking in different tongues, and asking for the gift of faith in abundance in my life.

Motivation gifts (Romans 12:7-8) encouragement, serving, and contributing to the needs of others.

I look forward to seeing what gifts you unwrap as well. Please share with all of us dear one.

Blessings to you,
Sarah Dawn

The very first gift I was given was the gift of knowledge. I always just knew things. Some people started calling me a witch doctor. It really scared me until I knew what it was. The next one was the gift of tongues, then prophecy, helps and now teaching. However, I agree with Heatherj and that if you are willing to be used and in a place that God needs to use a gift through you He will. It is always humbling when He uses me in any of these ways. Sometimes I have to turn to a friend and ask them what I said because I do not remember it. Then I know that it was truly Him speaking and not myself.

Will be waiting to see what He reveals to you.
