Warning Highly Contagious!

Last night the Holy Spirit led me to pray something I had never prayed before. As I tucked my children into their soft beds, I prayed with all solemnity of heart, 'that the Lord would make us contagious, highly contagious.'
What is it that we have, that I want you to catch and all those who come in close proximity to us?...

Adoption!

Oh, how I wish adoption was contagious; that if you got close enough to us and others that carry it-that the same Spirit of Adoption would fall heavily on you too.

Who would benefit? Well, you of course and the world's 143 million orphans.

As I prayed I cried, it is that close to my heart; not just now that we are mailing off another adoption contract, with another agency...but from the moment God touched my heart when I was a wee lass of 13.

I'm going to continue to pray this...be warned...I mean it when I pray,

"Lord make the Spirit of Adoption that rests within us, make it highly contagious. Father, do it for Your namesake and to bring Yourself Glory...in Jesus' name, amen!"

Sometimes I get discouraged & wonder if after Punkie's is finalized that maybe we are just supposed to be done (it's been a tough road). But then I read something like this post, & I'm quite sure I've come down with something that's not going to just go away...........

We are going to be adopting but have no clue where to begin. At first we thought we would just go through the foster care system but lately my husband has been thinking international. Do you have a starting point where before we know details we can begin the process? Anything would be helpful!

Kimmie, thank you so much for the encouragement! As you know very well, the adoption process is like being on a rollercoaster. I believe that, for the most part, I have just enjoyed the ride, but at times it starts to get overwhelming....mostly with the patience part. I just took a much needed break to renew my heart/spirit/mind, it was a good break and now I am ready to re-visit that rollercoaster!

Have a Blessed day!

just found you today - rejoicing with you over your new sweetie, and trusting the Lord to fill in the gaps when you can't be there.

we have 2 adopted from foster care, 2 biological - our parenting journey started with an angry toddler who is now 10 and as happy - and naughty - as a 10 year old boy is supposed to be. :) our commitment has been to scream from the rooftops that if anyone CONSIDERS adoption, they should do it, because so few THINK of it... we believe it's a total KINGDOM issue, and we are profoundly grateful to have been recipients of these amazing, blessed boys!!!
