A Bit of Disappointment

We found out that our care package for Princess Sweetness (our new Ethiopian daughter)...did NOT make it to her in Ethiopia.

She has been told she has a family by Krista and Jared's new son Muluken, who speaks English and Garage (Gur-agh-gay) her language. They are in Ethiopia to pick up their two beautiful children, ...but she has no pictures of us, as the album is still waiting with our agency. Plans changed suddenly and Sue (Celebrate Children's director) wasn't able to travel.

I am kicking myself, as Krista (the mom who is adopting Muluken and Gifte...from the same orphanage is Woliso, Ethiopia) asked me if she could bring a picture of us. Thinking she already was carrying 350lbs of donations, doing her first adoption (of TWO children) and the fact that the director was supposed to be traveling to escort a child home and bring our album/care package...I didn't forward a picture to her.

We are told that maybe in November she will get our care package and album.

My heart is heavy, as I can't imagine being told you have a family and then not being able to *see* who you are a part of. The problem is that she is 2 1/2 hours from Addis Ababa and no way to get a picture to her until November.

Sweet Sue Hedberg is thinking if there is *someway* to get Princess Sweetness a picture earlier than November... praying and thinking, praying and thinking.

I will close with what God spoke to my heart right after He plopped us into this adoption. He said, "Read Ezekiel chapter 48."

I did.

The last word of the chapter is...*Jehovah Shammah*...which means:

*God is There.*

Knowing she knows Him and that He is there with her soothes my aching mother's heart. Would you pray for her not to be worried, but to rest peacefully in His arms while she waits to meet us via our album?

Sweet friend,
No sadness marks her day. She rejoices to know her prayers have been answered by our God who is there. Even though she hasn't seen your picture, she carries you in her heart.

Hugs to you as we prepare for the next step in our Ethiopian adoption,
Sarah Dawn

...that far away from a big city, is it at all can they get to an internet and print a picture from offline or an email maybe?

Also, don't loose heart. I am feeling that maybe just hearing she had a family made her day?

Still praying Kimmie, still have 'the kids' here. Take your time, they are safe. We will send them onward when you are ready.

I am sad to hear of your disappointment, but I am rejoicing in this - you HEARD and answered the Lord's voice. He spoke to you and you felt His comforting promise and presence, He can do the same for your precious little Princess Sweetness. She may not be able to have a picture, but He can fill her heart with whatever is outpouring from yours. Looking forward to hearing how the Lord answers this prayer. Blessings to you.

Oh Kimmie, I can barely contain the tears...when I read your post I just felt such grief over that poor baby. But as I read on I too gained peace from the verse in Ezekiel. Isn't God's word amazing, a living truth that sets our souls at peace. Knowing that she is in the palm of His hand, that's all we need. I will pray for Princess Sweetness and for your family. God has begun, and He will be faithful to deliver. (Jer. 29:11)

Disappointing but adoption is all about waiting.

:( I'd be disappointed, too. I'm just going to pray that either God will see to it to deliver your care package earlier than November, or that He will put a picture of all of you in her mind- as only He could do!!

Love to you, friend!

Dear Kimmie, thank you for your visit and comment. I am so sorry to hear your care package got stolen. This happens here too.
The so;ution is to send it through expensive couriers or aviod mentiioning the attractive contents of the packet. Include wriiten Christian matieal and mention that.

Kimmie, I will pray for the heartache you feel. Just know that God's timing is perfect & she will receive her photos exactly when it fits in with HIS plan.

I'm sorry for your disappointment. I think that your newest daughter is probably going to relish those photos all the more when she receives them. She has this time to think about her new family and imagine what you're like and then she will get the picture . . . it seems to me that this will be an extra special gift for her.

Oh Kimmie, my precious friend, wishing I could hug you in person and say the words that would soothe your mama's heart...

Sweet Princess knows the Love of God. She now knows that through Him,she has a family who is waiting to bring their cherished child (her) home. She has prayed for you as you have prayed for her.

God will fill her heart with the Peace and Joy that He alone can provide as she waits to be in your arms. He works in wonderful and mysterious ways. He will find a way to provide just what your precious daughter needs.

May God fill your heart with Peace and Comfort and the knowledge that all will be well and you WILL be united in His perfect timing.

"I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it."
Isaiah 46:11b

With Much Love and
Prayers Unending,
Amy (((HUG)))
