An Ethiopian Artist at Work
Today was a day I chose to create an art project for my elementary homeschooling children. They sat in the kitchen and busily painted some recycled cardboard; creating a fabulous springtime creation to adorn our refrigerator.
(you'll have to come back to see their creation...)
But, the Baby looked sad; as if she had been somehow forgotten in the proceedings. I smiled, stripped off her white shirt and plunked her down with all the supplies a first time artist would want: paint of varying colors, tiny cut sponges, a few brushes and some paper...
joy~ oh JOY!

How funny Kimmie, my baby did art too yesterday - I'm about to blog about it! I never realised our littlest ones are so close in age - Will is 20 months. :) Wouldn't they have fun playing together!!
Your sweet ET princess is beautiful...and such the artist! Thank you for your sweet comment and encouragement...it meant so much to hear about the care center in Addis from your trip last year.
I'm so glad that I found your blog...you are an inspriration!
she is such a beauty!! can't wait to see the rest of the art!
Hey Kimmie, I'm just getting caught up with all the blogs. I haven't been reading any for weeks. Great to catch up with everything that's going on with you. Miss you.
loooove the baby chubby arms and legs goodness. I miss having a baby. My "baby" is 4 and while she is much like a baby in needs she is very much 4 in her wants and expressions and body. no squishy baby fat. = ( She likes when I call her baby though. I like it too.
HOW CUTE SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE COULD DO THAT FOREVER. to cute I admire you your heart must be huge. I have alway's wanted to adopt a child through foster care and have thought about doing foster care. Do you have any advice for me thanks
Hi Kimmie,
Thanks for dropping by my blog. I enjoyed Genesis' favorites list and have been trying to visit - but my net has been slooooooow! o well, it happens, at least I have net! I even managed to post to my own blog this morning - I was surprised.
You have a gorgeous family! I love the photos. Such happy kids. I enjoyed your photos of the littlest artist too. Brings back memories of my little girl at that age. My son was always, and still is, very neat... even under 2yo! However, Miss Chaos comes along and 'coloring out of the lines' was only the beginning. The looks we'd get from the nursery school staff over her stained, multi-color, self-decorated self! She's 6 now, and usually always carries some marker stains somewhere... and I am glad of it too. Giving kid art when they are young is something they'll keep forever. Too much fun!!
