A Letter from Ethiopia- Older Child Adoption

Sharing word for word, our first letter from our daughter, we got it last week.  I share it, because it testifies to God's goodness and His faithfulness to all of us.  Thank you for helping us bring her home!

Letter to my family

How are you my family and my love brothers and sisters?  I am fine.  When I wake up, when I sleep, that is, all the time I remember you.  What about you.  As I think you also remember me and you wish to see me.  I think I remember you all the time.  When I see you and live  with you?  If I see you soon I become very happy.  As I think you think so.  I write this letter for you because of I love all of you.  Are you love me?  All the time I pray to the Lord Jesus for you.  You also pray for me.

"And now, Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in you."  Psalm 39:7

From
*name* (we call her Princess Sweetness)

All my friends love my sister *G*.  So when you come, come with my sister *G*.

I LOVE MY FAMILY.

she then writes in what I think is Amharic (she also speaks Garage) and translates it:

Jesus is Lord
Jesus is King
Jesus is strong.

She drew some flowers and on the stems she wrote
...I love you my family.

then:

Love is milk
but don't drink my family. (this cracks us up!)

Then she drew another flower...

The flower is the symbol of love.

My family is sweet ok!

then:
Jesus is coming you ready?

My family come to Ethiopia

Jesus come. My family come.

Okay, this is really random but somehow (not sure how), I stumbled across your blog. I am actually from Ethiopia, and crazy enough, my name is Semenesh, but I go by Semmy. Just thought that was crazy! I don't know how I can help you, but I will certainly keep you in my prayers!

That is so wonderful and yes so precious!!! I am so happy for you that you are able to adopt her and she has a love for Jesus! thats wonderful!

I just wanted to let you know Kimmie that when you get the donation from a Mark Stricker, its actually from me. I wanted to give some money to you all and my dad did it for me under his name.

That way you know where it came from. :)

I just love what you all are doing for the Lord! His work is amazing! praying and in awe of his plans!

I love the connections she has made. Jesus is coming you ready? - what an amazing thing to ask. And that she has something so dear to relate it to. Her family will come someday soon and she wants to be ready just like we should be for Jesus' coming and He is family TOO! Jesus come. My family come.
Wow. I can't wait for you.
love, annie
