What if... (All about You)

It's March
and in my end of the world
it is still cold, wet and rather gray.
I was thinking perhaps
we could be a bit silly
(to help pass the time)
and share a bit of our

*What If* desires.

So here goes...
What if
you came into a Bazillion dollars suddenly,
you are told as part of the inheritance you MUST do one thing for yourself...

what would that thing be?

for me~

hmmm...

I think I'd hire a massage therapist...
nothing like massage to take away the knots and kinks that develop in my shoulders from the daily grind.

(or maybe someone to come brush my hair for hours ;-)

Okay, now how about you?

What if...

If it has to be for myself...

I'd buy a really nice yacht and set to sail in the oceans off southern Thailand with a few close friends and my family! We would dine on Thai cuisine made by a Thai street vendor hired out that will use seafood fresh from the ocean. We'd also have a live Christian band that uses metal drums (I think they're called that - the Jamaican ones), playing in the background quietly.

The thing that would make me the happiest would be to ensure I would never have to leave Ecuador. Not even for a furlough. I have never been happier than I am here, and I think this would be my best gift to myself.

But, if it isn't a frivolous enough answer. I would outfit my house out. I would buy new furniture, new plates, curtains, bunkbeds, rugs, photo frames... The works. I would go to Cuenca and blow 200,000 just on artwork.

I would hire a chef. Cooking is not my thing. I eat to live, not live to eat. He/she would also do the grocery shopping--with my kids ;)

As moms, we know that we would never see a penny of it just for ourselves ;)

But while we're dreaming...

I would definitely go to college.

Definitely a massage therapist. I've got fibromyalgia and always have giant knots around my shoulders and neck. OH wouldn't that be wonderful to get a massage whenever I needed it!

I'll buy an island where my family can hang out and snorkle, scuba, tan, swim, play...whatever each wants to do. And of course there'll be accomodations for burned out moms.

I'd hire an Alice, like on Brady Bunch! I'd love someone to cook, clean, do laundry, etc.

Thats hard when you have to think of yourself. I immediately thought about all the things I would do for others. I think I would have someone deep clean my house and maybe help with organization - to make more room for little ones. :) You know how many kids you could adopt with that kind of money?! :) I'd get my dream of living in Brazil for awhile so I could adopt. Does that count as doing something for me? Cause I could totally do without a maid. Give me a house in Brazil instead.

Fun question. Thanks for letting me dream.

I'd buy a little farm to raise some veggies and chicks and enjoy a simpler life. Of course I'd want it to have lots of bedrooms to fill with kids who need a home.

I would definitely buy myself a (spider-free) ranch house on at least 10 acres, preferable somewhere along the equator so I could grow a larger variety of produce.

I'm thinking if you won a Bazillion dollars you'd be best hiring that massage therapist to come live with you Kimmie - not just a one-off massage! ;)

For me..... hmm, that's tough. I think I would go back to Uni and study music - something I wish I had done in my 20's.

I'd get my hip issues fixed so I could run pain and injury-free again! I've started to have the same hip flexor problems I was dealing with in the Fall again (a different issue than what the surgery was for; they just happened to find that stinkin' cyst in my femur when trying to determine the hip flexor problems...), so I can't run for a while... but what's new? :'(

Pray for me... I just want to run. Run free. Run hard. Run on and on. Coaching/managing is great, but not an ideal long-term solution. I miss, and crave, running! So I'd fix my hips with a billion dollars. :)

Oh, that is so hard...to simply think of something that would give ME great joy. We could take 2 months and travel the US in an RV....but really, that's my husband's dream, although I'd enjoy it. And I'd love a house with a few more bedrooms and living space and acres....but then I'd need full time help to manage it all....plus, that's really for the family. Just for me is tough!

And to think of being frivolous makes me feel guilty with all the needs in the world...

How about, a weekend with my sweet man away by ourselves (of course, that requires the awful logistics of lining up babysitters) without any worry about the cost of whatever we do or wherever we go. Yeah, I'd take that! :-) Oh...and some lovely Lindt Lindor Truffles would top that off.

I would buy a plantation and build a beautiful house on it, not too big because I don't like housework, but large enough that the kids could play in a decent sized room and Irving and I could have our own spaces.

I'd probably have a couple of cows, a lot of chickens, and at least one horse (for riding into town) and a HUGE garden.

Oh, and four round-the-world plane tickets.;)

Ok If I wasn't allowed to think of anyone else - I'd have a holiday over to the USA & meet all the wonderful ladies I've "met" through blogging - especially you Kimmie!
Have fun
Renata:)
