The Election Among Friends

Today is a new day... Election Day has come and gone.

Wondering what you think about the outcome of the Presidential election.

If you are not too sure on the Electoral College there is a video here that will help you...

Are you happy about our country's future, about how the election turned out, about your vote?  I'd love to hear your heart!

Here's what a friend of mine wrote on her facebook wall and I agree (but unfortunately it appears the majority of the country didn't):

On November 6, 2012, who will I vote for?
I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood (Prov.6:17).
I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel & curses those who don't (Gen.12:3).
I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender (Prov.22:7).
I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God says if a man not work , let him not eat. (2Thess.3:10)
......

I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government's purpose is to reward the good & punish the evil (Romans 13).
I will vote based as close as I can on God's Word (2Tim.3:16). Knowing that whoever gets elected, God is the one who puts all men in authority (Dan.2:21).
May God have mercy on America. I will vote.

I was so sad watching Romney's concession speech and feeling that he and Ryan are so much more pro family and pro American and pro God & values. Heartbreaking.

wow..thank you for sharing that Kathy!

Heartbroken here too, but realize that it is a time for Christians to fall on their knees in serious prayer for our country and our President.

I was also heartbroken, but more and more I am feeling like this is a time for the Church (as the Body, not just locally)to stand up and make a difference. Change may not come because of government, but God's people can move the heart of God through prayer and obedience to His word. This is time for God to be God. I'm excited actually to see how He will move if we are faithful to be on our knees for our leaders and in His word for guidance.

I felt sad at first..sad, frustrated, regretful of the outcome....then I saw on facebook that a number of friends were speaking with "doom" in their "online voices". That kindof distracted me from my self and I wondered what my real gut reaction would have looked like had I wrote it out like some seemed comfortable to do in the heat of the moment. I was felt sober.

I don't want our young people and children to feel that we are afraid, that we are beaten, or that we somehow have put our trust in our TRUE King aside to mourn the election if we didn't vote Democratic. I want to hope and work and let our faith rise higher and like you said, Kimmie, seriously pray. Pray and trust in what God is able to do and for what His plans are for the future.

I felt just as doomed before the election as I did after. They were both miserable choices. Having been raised a Mormon in a very devout, high-ranking Mormon family, I know that Mormons, their founders and their leaders hate Christianity just as much as Muslims do. Either way we were getting a candidate who would make life difficult. Mormons have an agenda when it comes to government. I lived that religion and know we were encouraged to present ourselves to the world otherwise, and not to share our ultimate goal which was to take over the country and its government as prophecied from the beginnings of Mormonism. As far as the possibility of revoking roe v wade... no president has been able to do it yet, so it's doubtful Romney would have been able.
What this country needs, and what the Body of Christ needs to realize is that this country and the way it is governed will only be changed one heart at a time. If we change hearts, the country and government will follow.
So, Obama might destroy our country at 100 mph and Romney at about 50mph. I voted Romney only because it bought us a little time.
God protect the Church within this corruption!

Wow Kate...some powerful insight. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us. I know very little about Mormons, that was fascinating! (Truly Kate) .

How thankful I am for the gift and power of prayer. Feeling like we need to. (Together) move some mountains (prayer mixed with faith!)

Thinking we as Christ filled Believers need to Power up and pray...anyone game?

Here's a little "food for thought"... Mormon doctrine believes God was once a mere man from the planet Kolob who worked his way up to godhood. He currently has multiple goddess wives who are eternally pregnant, giving birth to spirit babies who wait there to inhabit bodies on this earth. Everyone alive is a spirit baby who once lived with father and mother in heaven. If you were a good spirit baby, you would go to a nice, Mormon family. Jesus and Lucifer were also spirit babies of God and one or two of his goddess wives. Jesus and Lucifer had a fight about who would become savior of this world. If you fought valiantly, you got to be born with white skin. If you were extra valiant, you get to be born into a Mormon family. If you were a "fence-sitter" and didn't fight valiantly, you get to be born with black skin. The darker the skin, the less valiantly you fought. Jesus didn't die on the cross for your sins... he atoned for your sins in the Garden of Gethsemane when He sweat blood. The cross was to conquer death and is seen by many Mormons as a failure in his ministry here on earth. They believe Joseph Smith (the founding prophet) was instrumental in the creation of the world. He was there and helped God create everything. Mitt Romney worships a polygamous God! Mitt and his wife regularly went to the temple to do sacred and secret ceremonies that would help him become a god of his own world and her become a goddess as long as Mitt remembers her secret name given her in the temple so Mitt can resurrect her after death. This is the ultimate goal of every good Mormon man. He and his wife will get to decide if they will have polygamous goddess wives, who and how their plan of salvation will play out, and what their world will look like. He and his wife also wear magic underwear with Masonic symbols on the breasts, the navel and the knee which they received after becoming a good "temple worthy Mormon". It is also a very works-based religion. Their "dictionary" is similar enough to the Christian's "dictionary" to make them very dangerous when it comes to dividing truth from error which is why so many are deceived into thinking it's a Christian based religion. After all, they say "Jesus Christ" ~ it's in their name! They carry a Bible! But they fail to tell you it isn't translated correctly, therefore it is untrustworthy and full of errors. And if you aren't a temple worthy Mormon, you'll just go to one of the lower levels of Heaven (there are three) instead of the uppermost level, where God lives. As Mormons, we all were encouraged to "fib a little" to keep non-Mormons from learning the truth of what we believed because they aren't ready for the "meat" of the gospel of Mormonism and they might not join the church if they don't understand these "truths." "Every Mormon a Missionary" was our motto. We would say anything to get you baptized.
Nope. Mormonism is nowhere near Christian and their "Jesus" is NOT the Jesus of the Bible. You can find these and other shocking beliefs of your friendly neighborhood Mormon by acquiring and reading their prophet's writings like Mormon Doctrine by McConkey or their Journal of Discourses which have multiple writings compiled from their founding fathers. It's an evil religion full of outwardly righteous people who need Jesus very badly!

Hope this gives you a taste of why there were so many Christians hesitant to vote for a Mormon. What a mess!

God bless your family, Kimmie. Keep fighting for Truth!

I'm not American, but I think most of the world was watching this election. I have to say that I'm glad it turned out the way it did, though Obama may not be a great choice. The main reason for this was the Mormon factor. Yes, some of the ideals were there (or were they? That campaign was all over the place and constantly switching views), but there were too many things that felt "wrong" and I do trust my gut instincts. Some of my Facebook friends are saying that Jesus will return in the next 4 years because this is the end of the world . . . which I find to be a tad dramatic! We shall see what happens. :)
