It is very difficult as an adoptive parent, once you have reached your "limit" and your house is full, knowing how many children around the world are still waiting.

After agonizing over the waiting child photolistings for the past 2 years, I felt the best thing I could do was do encourage other families to consider adoption and encourage church families to support families considering adoption. And guess what?? I found there were many other families who felt the same way I did and thus began the Tri-County Interfaith Adoption Ministry. And....somewhere in the process, my husband realized that we did indeed have room in our hearts and homes (and suburban) for one more child and here we are 4 months later waiting to bring our 11 year old daughter home. God does indeed work in mysterious ways :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13139019989777621750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724432374556756119.post-42785504174941259062007-06-20T22:34:00.000-07:002007-06-20T22:34:00.000-07:00kimmie..my computer crashed and therefore i have b...kimmie..my computer crashed and therefore i have been silent for a while, your blog is one of the first things i checked when i borrowed my daughter's computer. dear friend, i am with you on this. it is truly heartbreaking in so many ways. i resolve to commit more of my prayer time to this issue in particular. thanks for shedding the light. i will also ask Jesus what else i can do for HIM. How ...Oh, Kimmie, you have me in chills and tears! How precious are these children. How much my heart longs to have our boys in our arms and to feed them all the food they want. I want to give them every last drop of safe water that their little bodies can handle. Oh, Lord, part the waters and bring them home. Lord, move in miraculous ways in Christian lives to care for the suffering orphans around the world. Oh, that we would not become complacent in our lives, but that we would persist in prayer for the hungry children, the children that need the hope of Jesus Christ in their lives. God, I agree in prayer with Kimmie...use us to be your hands and feet...use us for your glory alone!

(yes, you can add me to your friends list...I love your heart and passion for Christ and adoption!)Laura Luhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00364263892527719613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724432374556756119.post-10078384726272755812007-06-19T18:02:00.000-07:002007-06-19T18:02:00.000-07:00I love your heart. I'll join with you in prayer seeking the Lord and asking how He would have us respond to situations like this one and others that are so similar. Our family has a heart for adoption as well. We've adopted one precious child through foster care and are hoping to adopt our second. I would love to adopt internationally some day if that is the Lord's will for our family.

Blessings,

DianeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724432374556756119.post-14140547212987593992007-06-19T13:57:00.000-07:002007-06-19T13:57:00.000-07:00Oh my, you've given me more than one reason to cry...Oh my, you've given me more than one reason to cry today. Thank you so much for sharing this. We have 11 at home, all homemade and I'm getting on in years (adoption-wise), but that is where my heart has been for a few years now. I just need to keep praying that if it is the Lord's will, He will move on my husband's as well.

Meanwhile, we throw all the money we can at the issues, which makes me feel useful in some capacity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724432374556756119.post-56295595300528885022007-06-19T10:02:00.000-07:002007-06-19T10:02:00.000-07:00So far my passion is for one.
