Does this Ever Happen to You?

Ever have this happen...you keep being bombarded by the same word spoken over and over to you?
Over the past few weeks the word *harmony* keeps coming up before my eyes and ears.  I am curious because I've never really heard anyone ever use it in a sentence, besides maybe when you take your marriage vows.  I have seen it in every book I am reading, several people used it in conversations with me, even a prayer minister used the words, as he prayed for my husband and I on Sunday.

And, other than the situation with my 17 year old daughter who is currently being difficult (okay downright rebellious), my heart and relationships are in harmony.  Peace reigns in my soul, so what's with the word?

Wondering what the Holy Spirit is whispering to me?

I don't know if it something for me personally
or something He is speaking to His Church at large.
  Any of you hearing the same thing?

1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another;
be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

Kimmie, at one time, I had a very rebellious teenage daughter. She caused me such great grief through her actions, I would cry into my pillow so the other kids couldn't hear. I could write pages of what we went through, but it's her story to share. I just want to tell you that yesterday, this same daughter, a lovely married mother of three, sat and encouraged me in the Lord through SKYPE. It was so beautiful.

Keep abiding in harmony, keep abiding in peace in your heart, mind and soul. Someday, you'll have peace and fellowship with that lovely daughter.

Thanks for sharing that lovely word, it's humming through my heart.

Kimmie,
I haven't heard that *word*, per say- but I have also sensed that theme in my prayers- for the church at large- words like brotherly kindness and unity and humility; that we as a Church must LOVE one another as Jesus loves us.

(((hugs))) and prayers for you and yours,
~Stacy

surprised that you didn't put up the definition of the word as you usually do. Praying for you and your girl. Hope to see you this Christmas.
Love you!

Hi Annie;

I did...if you click on harmony the definition (linking to Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary) is linked to the word. Click away!

Because I grew up in a church that sang in acapella 4-part harmony, I'm very familiar with the word, but I usually use it in the context of music...it is quite appropriate in our relationships as well! I need to think about this...

Interesting word!

I used it early today to describe my marriage during dinner as couples were complaining about their spouses inconsiderations when one is trying to sleep - (the other puts the light on, or snoozes the alarm etc). Hubby and I just gave a few examples of how we treat each other and I did say that we have a great marriage b/c we live in harmony!
