Nudity at the beach
Yesterday it was hot here, really the first 'hot' we have had. I decided to pack up the kids and head to the lake for a few hours, not a lot of preparation, just grab towels and suits and go. As we get to the lake I realize we haven't applied any sunblock yet, so I tell the troops to wait in the grass while I grab a few things out of Katrinka (the suburban).
Such obedient children, they all stood waiting while I gathered supplies. I remembered 2 more things that were in the front passenger seat, so I say, as I lean into 'the tank' to grab them..."Guys, take your clothes off, so I can put the sunblock on you before we get in the sand." "Leave your clothes in the car, they will stay clean then."
To which my 5 year old son, King Meemer replies,"Okay Mama, but this is going to be weird."
I look over the dashboard to see him slipping down his swimshorts-yikes, I quickly add, 'I meant your shirts and the girls shorts, not all of your clothes! '
He looked relieved, boy he was right, that would have been weird. Maybe abit of a funny story to retell his future wife, but weird none the less.
We had a lovely time at the lake, and our bums stayed in wraps, hee-hee.

Funny, funny! Glad you didn't have to deal with little sunburnt bottoms!
This had me laughing! I like, "ok, but that's kind of weird." :)

Ha! This is a cute story!
Funny story! My 5 year old would have done the same thing.. he's always looking for an excuse to get some "nakie" time. ~Karlie
Scandalous!
Too funny!!! I have three boys (and a girl) and I could just see this happening...LOL. Your son's "Ok, but that's kind of weird" just cracked me up.
I popped over from javamamma's blog. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Made me laugh out loud, Kimmie! Thanks for sharing.
Very funny! So easy to forget that kids take things so literally, isn´t it? :D
