Hey you homeschoolers looking for books...
- Two large tents
- a screened room for eating
- a large raccoon or bear (?)
- a crash in the screen house the first night and a missing box of Grapenuts cereal the next morning (my husband went out to investigate in the wee hours, only to see eyes darting back in forth in the woods...and loud heavy footsteps...DON'T BE SCARED!)
- beautiful weather...not a lick of rain and we have the tan to prove it!
- a lovely lake
- canoe trip to an island to pick cup fulls of wild blueberries
- a man we dubbed, "the snoring guy." Who should win an award for being able to make sounds like a grizzly bear...all night long. (well for 6 of our 7 nights)
- picnics everyday
- a crackling blazing fire and an ancient book on Charles Spurgeon which I finally got to crack open.
- well behaved children
- tons of laundry to do and a trailer full of odds and ends to empty ....Thank you God!
Now for those of you who have children (or know children ;-) I have a sweet friend who has a wonderful online shop full of all sorts of helpful books. Her shop is as lovely as she is, perhaps some of you could use a little something to add to this years curriculum. Her shop, Blue Thistle Books is well organized and certainly you will find just the thing that will make your heart sing. You will just love Hallie and her books...check out her blog after you browse around her bookshop. I am thinking that some of these books would make EXCELLENT Christmas gifts. She has a sale going on and also a giveaway at her website...check it out! *a hint about the giveaway...it has to do with machinery and sugar...well I guess the sugar is optional on your part, but hey- you'll have to go see it for yourself!

You are just the sweetest! And I missed you!
I want to hear all about your trip. I am so happy that you had a great time! Sounds like so much fun!
And I do have a thingy for your side bar. And thank you! I will try to remind myself to send it over in an email.
Write when your done with your laundry pile, or at least when it is a bit smaller!

What fun. We love camping and what a terrific event to go to!
You must be pretty close...well at least a few states, to us in northern NY.
Hope you tackle that laundry pile soon...that is a daunting task after after camping.
For sure I will check out Blue Thistle Books.
God bless,
Welcome back. Sounds like a great vacation!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time; cracking a book is a sure sign! Thank you for the link; the site looks dreamy and I'm off to peruse it soon...
Thanks for the link to that book store! I just bought an art game, an art book, and some magnetic tanagram looking things. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment!
Joy is one thing I can't live without - I so appreciate your encouragement. It means a lot coming from someone with many kids and 10 years experience!!
Blessings!
really like your blog title!
Sounds like a fun trip. I like the idea of camping but I admit to preferring the comfort of my soft bed.
Thanks for visiting my homeschoolblogger blog. I always enjoy meeting new people! Especially ones with a Hungarian daughter (one-quarter Hungarian here.)
Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
Hi Kimmie, the way you talk about you camping trip made me think of the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton I used to read when I was young. It sounds like a great adventure, by the way I was getting a little bit scared reading about the eyes in the night!!!
hi, I answered, on my blog, the question about strike-throughs.
