Princess Lala (age 22-adopted from Hungary at 15 months old)

Princess Giggles (age 15- adopted March 2007 *5 years old*...through foster care)
She is determined, loyal, and so wants to please, we thought we were just doing respite for a sibling group of 3...but God meant another adoption for us! Hurray!
King Meemer (age 14- adopted March 2007 through foster care-with his two siblings *age 4*)
He is hard-working, helpful, and wise
King Bonkey (age 13- adopted March 2007 *3 years old* ...we met his sibling group in May 2006 )
He is a worshiper, tender-hearted, and focused

Those have turned out so cute. We're re-doing some bedrooms in preparation for our new addition and I'd love to find something to decoupage. I found the cutest idea for my little girl's room. It's inexpensive & adorable... thought I'd share it with you since you're the crafty type, too. ;o)

These suitcases are so fun and bright. How long did they take you to do?

The gathering and cutting takes the longest (finding the illustrations you want-I found mine at thrift shops). The actual decoupage is quick once you decide how to lay out your design. When it was dry we added a protective varnish. Hint...I also used a wallpaper seam roller, you really have to pay attention for air bubbles, sometimes they are really hard to notice until you are well into the drying stage and well past being able to rid yourself of them!
*I cut and cut and cut from 6 or so books, a few hours worth, but now have loads of pictures to chose from and also have been using them in scrapbooking projects.

oh Kimmie, what fun, I think I'd like to make a suitcase like that, it sure would beat looking for the black one on the belt of black suitcases at the airport.

What a great 'case. kimmie, you and I have so much in commen. Thank you so much for posting on my blog so that I could find yours. We share favorite books, movies, and a love for the same adoption agency. I wrote a blog post on All God's Children not so very long ago. Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm delighted to meet you and your precious children. This is off topic, but as I'm not sure you will check the comment section over at my blog again, I wanted to tell you that you are not the first woman I know who has had fertility problems which were probably caused, or exacerbated, by being on the Pill. I know a case when a woman became a mother of two healthy beautiful children, went on the Pill for about a year to take 'a break' (had her two first pregnancies one right after the other), and only managed to conceive for the third time with long and costly fertility treatments. Her dream of having many children is lost, though she and her husband might, like you, consider adoption. Of course, her doctors firmly deny this was caused by her being on the Pill.
