adoption update...

Okay, the news is I have no update, the Hague has made some modifications to adoption policy, so my agency is no longer able to post in their weekly newsletter how many boys or girls were placed that week. I know 6 children were placed (to which we are thrilled, moving them towards their new families), but now as it is considered unethical to tell us how many of each sex, we are left waiting until the beginning of the month for our phone call update from the agency. sigh.

So glad you guys are with me and that all of you are more than willing to encourage me as I wait. I can imagine that first adopt-ers must have much anxiety waiting so long in between updates. I am glad to have you as friends and not have to just sit here twiddling my thumbs!

We also no longer can have pictures posted of our children until after adoption, as of the new ruling of the Hague, we haven't had any weekly photos of the kids from the children's home in Guatemala. This is hard, because Guatemala adoptions take 2 trips, the first you meet the child(ren) and then you wait for the remaining details to be worked out by their government, before you get to see them again. Some families have a few month wait, some it has taken longer than a year. Without pictures this is hard, though I think once they are identified you get a monthly video, but this may have changed as well.

Hard stuff, I know they are trying to safeguard the children, but adoption is already hard in so many different ways, this seems to just take another chunk out of your heart.

thanks for listening.

OH girl. The Lord has His hands all over this adoption. He will bring this little one into your arms at just the right time and watch over them until you have them.

Praying you hear something soon,(but if not...praying God teaches you awesome things in the meantime)
Love,
Sue

When we look through it with our human eyes, the newest changes are such a hindrance, aren't they? But God sees the complete picture. He's still moving even when we can't see the pictures or the progress. And He knows your heart. No doubt this sweet little one will be welcomed into your family at His perfect timing and not a moment sooner!

May God give you His peace as you wait!

Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
