A friend in blogland
I don't know if this has happened to you yet, but I got a surprise in the mail from someone who has become a sweet friend through blogland. Emily is so sweet, she has a great sense of humor, is full of creativity and is a girl who chases after God. Clever Emily, thoughtful Emily, and one who really offers her heart to others-this girl is a girl you want for a friend. Blessed me!
Emily, at The Learning Never Stops, went out of her way to bless me. She came across this book, about a boy who is from Guatemala, called The Most Beautiful Place in the World. She knows we are waiting on an adoption to Guatemala and thought this would be a fun way to share a little bit more of Guatemala with our children. As I read it, my children gathered around and illustrated it in their drawing notebooks. It was a very touching story, about a boy who faces many hardships and wonders if anyone really loves him. He finds that though his mother abandons him for a new husband, that truly his grandmother loves him and reveals the true depth of her love for him by helping him go to school and get an education-one that she never got because she always was a caretaker. A sad story with a happy ending, just like my 5 adopted children have known.
We continue to wait to hear from God on our adoption-this week our agency is supposed to call us with updates. I so SOOO need a good word, I have found myself in tears for the past week and just feeling like I need something to move in this process. Yes, patience is a virtue and I know that God's timing is perfect-I can't explain my heart or my life experience in one blog post...the reality is that I so need to hear from God.
I hope you will pop over and meet Emily...she obviously is a special girl and one who gives...don't you LOVE the card she made me. I am blessed to call her my friend-this blog world that I didn't know existed such a short while ago, has been such a blessing to me this past year. I am humbled and amazed how God can use something as simple as a blog to touch lives and hearts.
Yes, Emily, I so need His Peace and his touch. Thank you for sending me a piece of the Father's heart for me and a reminder that He hasn't forgotten me.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you want to be included in my Giveaway...deadline is January 31st!
