The future of international adoptions
I just received Rainbowkids.com (s) -The Voice of Adoption newsletter. A good read if you are interested in adoption and what the future may hold for these waiting children.
As we are trying to be patient in our wait on news on the Guatemalan adoption sitiuation, this is a great overview into the realm of adoption.
No child should be forgotten, no country has the right to leave a child either in an orphanage, on the street or in badly run foster care systems. Every child deserves to have loving parents , no child deserves to be stuck in a government system of paperwork or even worse just plain old forgotten.
As Christians, God tells us to take care of orphans- these slow downs in adoptions and changes in the various countries are not all for the benefit of the kids, but are keeping us from doing what we feel called to. I do want children safeguarded, I do desire what is the best for them, I am beginning to feel a holy anger- as they are not allowing us to do what God has told us to do.
Psalm 119:126
It is time for You to act, O LORD,
For they have regarded Your law as void.
For they have regarded Your law as void.
{law (Hebrew-towrah=law, instructions, direction (human or divine)}
Psalm 82:3
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
I really like this English Standard Version of that same verse:
“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
I am amping up my prayer, because I think evil is standing in the way of these orphans, not only in Guatemala, but all over this earth. Truly, he is out for himself and doesn't want these children in homes where they will be loved, given worth and allowed to fulfill their God given destiny. We have an enemy and the only place he belongs is under our shoe, but it is OUR job to put him there ...I'm ready to take action- what do you think?

My heart continues to be stirred about adoption. My kids now are 'on the bandwagon' - praying for 'enough money to adopt a baby boy'. We will definitely be praying and standing on some of these scriptures you gave. Thanks!
Oh, Kimmie - I totally agree that the attempt to halt adoptions is bigger than any earthly organization. This is a blatant assault by the enemy because a majority of families adopting from oppressed countries are Christians.
We're seeing potential changes to Haitian adoption and I know it is because satan fears losing his foothold in a country that has been in his clutches for so long. We pray over this and the situation in Guatemala daily. The enemy would not be attacking in this way if he was not threatened. These children have the potential to bring about revival in their countries of birth if given a Biblical foundation from loving adoptive families.
We're unified with you in prayer.
AMEN!!!
Your strength is such an encouragement to others, you really have no idea! *hugs*
Holy anger. I love that, Kimmie! This is truly a time for holy anger. I pray often for orphans all over the world. Your blog keeps me updated about all the issues involved in adoption.
In our country the situation is really very bad. Can 't even describe it to you. Whatever is being done is just a drop in the ocean.
I AMEN you on your comments on many fronts, Kimmie. Although we are not involved, or called, in the adoption area we too are fighting hard against the attacks of our enemy. Keep up the good work. I know your voice is needed by many who find themselves in your shoes.

This is the first time I've visited your blog. I lost my dad as a kid and this quote was one of my mom's favourite. I lost my Mom this may so I'm wondering if this is some kind of sign???? :-) Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It's what brought me here.
Oh Kimmie...I will pray more fervently for you...I feel your anguish in your post!
Blessings,
Robin
I completely agree that the enemy is behind anything that seeks to thwart getting children into loving, Christian homes. I would love to adopt...but until the Lord moves on my husband's heart in a similar way, I will do whatever I can to help others do so!
Now that I've been re inspired on the POWER of prayer... I have been more convicted than ever! I would be honored to pray with you about this. I have several local friends who are having these same issues (and one who JUST picked up her baby girl from China last week! PRAISE GOD) I also see the struggles of people who want to adopt in the US. I can't beleive it! in the US it took one family I know 9 years to finalize an adoption. Something is wrong there. Anyway, I will pray that God's great power is released over these organizations, and these children get to go home to their new Mommys and Daddys quickly. ~Karlie
Kimmie - you are so right. If the enemy of our souls can snatch people away while they are still babies, his battle is easier.
BUT
We love a God who is in the business of healing and redeeming. I will PRAY with you that what seems hopeless will not discouraged the saints from acting and praying.
Again I say it, you are an inspiration. :)
I am right next to you praying about the children in Guatemala waiting to come home.
