Prayer Request Sunday
Hope today is filled with joy and peace for you. Did you have a good week?
We are still fighting the 'plague' here, though slowly getting better. I am feeling much better, though the cough and 'drip' are hanging on still. My Knight and King Meemer (5) are fighting the fight with it now too. We are convinced it is evil, as the coughing begins to REALLY manifest itself as soon as the sun goes down and darkness begins to creep in-What's the deal with that!
I hope you stopped by because you'd like prayer. How can I pray for you this week? Please leave me a comment and let me know what you'd like me to believe for you. Our God is a big God, he desires us to come to Him through prayer and He is able to answer our prayers! Come on, don't be shy, 63 other people since November have asked me to pray for them. I have each name and need written down in my prayer journal and have been taking them (and their need) before our Father in heaven. We've heard back some praise, but I long to hear more. I so desire that you are blessed and walking in the fullness that God has for you.
I am so glad we are friends and can ask each other to pray-my family would ask for continued prayers for our dossier (paperwork for adoption). We are hoping to have everything tied up in the next week or two, then we get our waiting list number-yahoo!
2 Chronicles 6:40"Now, O my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer {offered} in this place.

Hi Kimmie...if you could continue to keep my friend Deena from Can I Be Pretty in Pink in your prayers I would appreciate it...she has been bravely fighting Stage 4 Cancer and I know she could use all our prayers right now.
Thank you and many prayers to you on your continued adoption effort..
Hugs,
Robin
Praying for quick healing for your family, Kimmie. I am also praying for your paperwork. May every "i" be properly dotted and every "t" properly crossed to avoid any speed bumps!
Robin, I'll be praying for your friend, Deena!
Ok, Kimmie, this is a big request for me. I'm nervous even putting this out there for others to see. However, I know that I cannot do this alone. When I was 14 (I'm now 30), I started smoking. I quit when I was pregnant, but as soon as the "reason" to quit was gone, it didn't take long for me to pick it right back up again. I'm still working up the courage to be open about this with my Bible study group so that I can have some accountability. This is a surrender and trust issue for me. Other areas of my life are surrendered to Christ, but this one has been the "thorn in my side." Honestly I'm scared to quit. I'm afraid of the mood swings and the affect that will have on my marriage--even though my hubby would love it if I quit for good. In the past, when I have tried to quit, my husband gave me a really hard time about my moodiness. I have never fasted before, but I believe that God has been calling me to learn more and maybe even consider this a sort of "fast." My cravings would be the prompting to turn to Him for help through them.
Thanks Kimmie for giving me an outlet here. I will keep you updated.
In Him,
Julie S
Dear Kimmie,
I am a fairly new reader of your blog - thank you so much for sharing your heart! I will be praying for your family's health and the adoption paperwork.
I am (with slight embarrassment and trepidation) leaving a prayer request. We don't know each other, but I would still truly appreciate your prayer. My husband and I disagree on having more children in our family - we have 2 wonderful beautiful children now (5yo and 3yo) and i long (LONG!) for more. It is hard for me to submit in this area that is so on my heart, day and night. Please, would you pray for my heart? And my DH's? And that the Lord's will be done and we can both lay aside our humanity and see HIS will?
Thank you so much for your prayers.
Erin
Dear Julie;
Oh, I am thrilled that you have asked for prayer for this. I will (WILL) hold you up and believe that God will strengthen you and enable you to trust Him with this, with all the details that are associated with 'putting out' this habit.
I am going to pray that the Holy Spirit give you courage (remember God tells us FEAR NOT more than anything else in the bible). I am also going to pray that he helps you find scripture to help you with the 'moodiness.' Do you think it is just learning to apply self control? Do you think putting others first would help with feeling moody- what about a new habit, like knitting or such?
God is able to help control your emotions, he is the one who gave them to you!
I also just heard that we can't have courage without first having fear. So you have the first piece to the solution-God is in the details my dear friend. This is NOT to hard for him. He has good things for you and your marriage...don't let the devil lie to you or sway you into believing anything less. Remember he is the king of Liars...what he is speaking to you (with fear) is from the pits of hell.
I am also going to pray for you to share it with your bible study group...accountability is so powerful. Confessing to one another has an awesome God given power to release God's authority into our lives...as hard as it is-do it! (sometimes you have to 'do it' with your knees knocking, but just do it!)
sending a hug and praying like crazy for you Julie.

Hi Erin!
Oh, as a woman that has this in her heart, I know your what you are battling. I will encourage you to trust God with this, pray for your husband, go at the issue with a gentle spirit and if it is God's will your husband will come into agreement.
Have you both sought God on this together? What is the reasoning for your husband's decision to not have more? Is it financial or a space issue? Coming to the route of it, through gentle discussion will help to pray better and also to both seek God on it- will allow the Holy Spirit to direct you in wisdom. You both need to get to the point where you can surrender your plans and truly say, God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I know it is hard Erin, but ask God to take away your desire if it is not His will for you. Ask for wisdom and understanding into the desire and I will be praying for you. (of course I may be adding...Lord lead them to adoption! ;-)

Please pray for Aunt Prem, she has broken her hip bone and is on traction. Her daughter had family who are living off her widow 's pension are not good to her.

My husband and I were just talking about Nehemiah and how much he is talking right now. I told him that I wrote to you asking for you to pray with us for his speech and the more I thought about it the more I realized that his vocabulary was building beginning when I asked you for prayer. :) So PRAISE REPORT!! God is doing amazing things in Nehemiah! We were driving along a busy road today and Nehemiah was chatting away in the backseat...and we understood what he was saying! He was naming all the things he saw out his window. "Look a dragon! ooh! an apple! See? a sign?" It was beautiful to hear him speak. Thank you for praying with us!
So, Kimmie, I am not sure what exactly you were praying for in regards to my smoking problem, but it turns out that I am pregnant!!! I am only about 4 weeks, but my addiction will be taken care of for the next nine months at least. The new request will be for this baby to "stick." My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage so it's always in the back of my head as a possibility. I truly appreciate your prayerful heart.
My husband will be hearing the news today when he gets home from work. Praying for a good response from him. Of course he'll be excited, but we do have a lot on our plate right now. God knows what's best for us and His purposes.
