Giving thanks and feasting!
I found this great old Tupperware container at the thrift shop. It was only $2.00 and it has already proven to be handy. My four youngest were thrilled to give it a trial run, you see all of the older ones plus Papa were at youth group. I was thinking how I could make my evening easier, by not cooking. Mama gave them a smorgasbord and were they happy...shortly 'dinner' was done and they were beaming at the new fun way to eat!
A little bit of recycled fun, did I mention that it also has a wonderful cover? Who needs plates, right! We're Greening up, didn't have to wash silverware, plates, and if you notice we didn't even use napkins...barbarians I tell you!
Happy, thankful barbarians though!

Can I just say that you have such GORGEOUS kids? Seriously, they all have such incredible eyes!
The buffet style dinner is a great idea, my mom did that a lot with us and it is a lot of fun for the kids.
well if you are going to hang out with a bunch of barbarians they may as well be darling ones. I love those kind of impromtu buffet style eating celebrations. Good job on keeping the suds down to little in the sink.
I do love me a good thrift shop find. :) I like that simple meal idea too. I'll keep that in mind for the next time my husband won't be home for dinner. And anything that cuts down on dishes is a winner in my book. :)
LOL, Kimmie :) That looks like lots of fun to me - instant picnic! Love you! Q
I LOVE that first one of them praying!!
And, I think I am going to have to get me a container like that and steal your idea!
I have a container just like that in my garage sale pile right now, but I may have to dig it back out. Great idea!
And I ditto the comment about the eyes! Beautiful!
Fantastic idea!
So fun, Kimmie. You are a creative mama.
They all look so sweet praying :) I remember years ago I sold tupperware and that product had just come out. We had to come up with all kinds of uses for it for when we showed it at a party. My main use was for taco toppings or icecream toppings. Nifty idea you had!
Those style dinners (lunches) are my kiddos favorites! The youngest are always asking if we can do that.
Hello Kimmie! I wish I could remember how I found your blog...have no clue...but I have had it bookmarked for some time - I am utterly captivated by your lovely family...what a blessing to see His love in action is such a concrete, sweet way. I clicked on this particular post because it was labeled thrifting, and well, I can't seem to resist anything that has to do with that topic :o) When I saw the great divided tupperware and what you've done with it, it reminded me of something I had seen on another blog "Muffin Tin Monday" where people from all over share their muffin tin meal ideas (similar to yours) with a weekly theme, best I can tell...thought you might get a kick out of it: http://sycamorestirrings.blogspot.com/2008/09/muffin-tin-monday-childrens-literature.html
Anyway...not quite sure how or why that all just came together, but there you have it. I love your site and will continue to enjoy my visits here. God's best to you and yours!
Hugs and Blessings,
Becky S.
