Hummingbird feeder with nectar recipe

My Knight bought me a new hummingbird feeder at Farmway in Bradford, VT. It replaces the cheap plastic one that I've been using the past few years. This one is glass with a plastic base and is just so sweet.

Speaking of sweet I made a little bird food for my wee little visitors to savor. It is easy-

~Hummingbird Nectar~

Needs:

Water

White sugar

pan

funnel

stirring gadget

4 parts water, 1 part sugar is your ratio...so make a batch as big or small as you like. You don't need to add anything else, though some add food coloring (red or yellow), but with the red base this should be enough to attract your wee feathered friends.

Store any remaining nectar in the refrigerator in a covered container. Your feeder should be cleaned once a week or so-I find a hot water rinse with a little vinegar does a dandy job of cleaning it out for the next round of nectar.
