Sewing -embellishing burp cloths

*7 days...that's one WEEK!!* until we are on the plane heading to ETHIOPIA to adopt our Little Beauty.
(she's 8 months old!)

Way back in our waiting for our Guatemalan sons (which is when this adoption began...August 2005!)...which never came to be because the country shut down to adoptions....well, I picked up a load of cloth diapers.

Back in those days it was my hearts desire to go the route of cloth diapers, it still is, but I have decided that I am going to use a diaper service versus me being the diaper cleaner. In the beginning of this adoption I had 3 children...in 2007 God sent 3 more though foster care for us to adopt....with six kids there is already plenty of laundry time for me, enough said.

I figured I better fancy mine up, or the diaper service was bound to end up with our diapers and theirs. There is a method to my mad embellishing at the 11th hour!

I used up so many scraps for this embellishing project, which is good if you knew my fabric pile. And as a tree-hugger, just seeing the little fairy tale trees makes joy well up in my heart!

I'm almost done with sewing...a few more diaper wraps out of fleece and I can stash the fabric and sewing machine away. For now it sits on the kitchen table, waiting for me to come.

Thank you for your prayers and for your financial support. In the past week another $650 dollars has come in through our fund raising support button that Emily made. We are so thankful...this adoption has been such a financial stretch for us. What a blessing you are to us...and of course God knows your love offerings and will provide out of His abundance for you too!

I can't believe how busy you have been such cute designs too.Suddenly we find ourselves with a 7 day wait as well!!!Our childs birthfather signed over his parental rights a few days ago,now we have a 7 day wait to see if he appeals or stalls,if not she will be %100 free for adoption in 7 days!!,we would get to skip the tpr process and many court hearings. So as I watch your family wait your 7 days and count them down, know we are doing the same! What a wonderful way to bring in the New Year.Hugs to you all.

What a fun task! AND a great way to use up fabric scraps (your stash must look like mine! YIKES!)

I'm so excited for you, Kimmie, and am continuing to pray! :-)

Blessings,

Love these cloths! But if you run out of energy, maybe a simple line of machine embroidery on the borders will help you keep them separate from the diaper service diapers, and it would be fun to use all those stitches we never get to! . BTW, we had a service with our first one and it really was a luxury. Enjoy!
