Homeschool chats
This morning King Meemer (age 6...first grade) was showing me how neatly he wrote his spelling list for the week. Our emphasis for him has been 'slow down' and work on remembering to capitalize proper nouns. I told him any word that was floating would have to be rewritten 10 times. Imagine, that worked! No more floating or sinking spelling words.
He showed me his list and it was much neater. Unfortunately, the words that needed capitalizing had remained lowercase. I reminded him that if it was the 'name' of something, that it need to be capitalized, using the word 'big letter' along with the word capitalized.
He went on to tell me that a dog's name...like Hunter should have a capital H. Then he said, "Or another dog that is a Golden Contriever, should have his name capitalized too."
Yes, Golden Contrievers who have names, ought to capitalize them. That would be good. I don't think we will work on the fact that our dog is a Golden Retriever just yet, as it is way too cute presently.

Don't you just love it when they say something so wonderful! I, too, hate correcting them. Love it!

I've long suspected Golden Retrievers of making stuff up, so it is very apt.
What a blessing to homeschool...even if it's a Golden Contriever! THANKS for your encouraging words on my blog. I needed 'em!
That is just the cutest!! LOL - how sweet!
Don't you just love little ones! As I see my littlest growing up so quickly, I'm so so thankful there's grandbabies coming right after her to keep us smiling :-)
Blessings,

Hi Kimmie...love the pic of your joyful 1st grader - what a smile:) I'm going to have to try the trick of rewriting the spelling words 10 times each for my 3rd grader and stop the floating words ( I won't let him know you gave me the idea:) )
Baby Mercy is simply precious...too cute! Those eyes are amazing. Doesn't it seem like we've had our little African princesses for longer than almost 3 months! Praying for you and your family:)
