Wisdom...Seeking Her

My Pastor here, gave me a word last week,
he said something that disturbed me
 and something that put fuel racing through this engine of mine.

What did he say that upset me...well he said,
"Don't give up on God, don't give up on God,"
 as he lovingly prayed over me.

What did he say that pumped up my fire?
He said,
 "You are going into a season of wisdom, seeking after it.
 You will learn many things.
 Then, you will see that you have options that you were unaware of before."

So what did I do with this word from this man that I have come to love and trust?  I finished up reading the book of Revelation (yeah ~read through the entire New Testament this year!) and jumped into chewing on the book of Proverbs (a place of great wisdom).  I have also begun asking for wisdom.  Asking to have God increase my "knowing" and let me apply that knowledge (wisdom)~ oh so eager!!

I am very thankful.

Not sure what he meant by, 'don't give up on God.' But I know that I have gone through a very hard season.  A season that had me on my knees and that I felt hoped deferred, again and again.  A few times in this season I did feel hopeless and wondered about my faith and God.
(have you been there, done that?) The Word says that,
 "Hope deferred makes the heart sick."

But I continued to plug away at being a Christian.  I looked for ways to serve him, often by reaching out to help others.  Nothing big, but just a willingness of heart to plant seeds. I daily kept myself in the Bible, even when what I read seemed dry.
 (*remember we don't go by feelings, press on, past the feeling!)

This morning I read this in The Message (Bible):

Proverbs 15:10-14

It is a school of hard knocks for those who leave God's path,
 a dead-end street for those who hate God's rules.
Even hell holds no secrets from God---
do you think he can't read human hearts?

Know-it-alls don't like being told what to do;
they avoid the company of wise men and women.

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face;
a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.

An intelligent person is always eager to take in more truth
(*knowledge...when applied to life- wisdom!);
fools feed on fast-food fads and fancies.

This morning I also heard this from my Father's heart:

'One man fueled another man,
 and they were on fire
(passionate for His ways)
and it grew.'

So, that's why I'm talking with you about this today, hoping that the fire will spread and that we can make a difference (for God) in this world of ours.

Would love to hear what you think and what He has been saying to you!  And if you haven't heard His voice, drop me a comment or a private note and we will pray specific to that, okay?

Thanks for sharing, Kimmie! Can't wait to see how He works this out in your life.

I'm only hearing one word from the Lord right now......WAIT. Fortunately He has plenty for me to do in unrelated areas while in this season of WAIT or the waiting would be unbearable.

Blessings,
Tammy
