When Life is Hard..."Don't Quit"

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won if he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than-
it seems to a fair and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so afar,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,-
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

I hope this give someone some encouragement today.

Here's what God's Word has to say about giving up...

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.
Do not be frightened, do not be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Psalm 37:24

Though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.

Don't Quit.  Fight the good fight.  If you are feeling overwhelmed and tired, take some time to rest.  Bow your head now and tell the Lord how you are feeling.  Ask Him to help you, to bring you strength and courage to continue on.  Ask Him for rest for your body and soul.

Don't Quit.  If you need prayer, I'd love to stand with you.

Quitting isn't a good solution.  It won't solve the problem(s).  The best way is to come to Him.  Lean on Him.  Ask Him for wisdom.  Invite Him into the situation and then give Him room to move in it.

May your heart find strength in knowing you are not alone and that God cares about you.

I think this post was for me! It brought tears to my eyes. The scripture verses really hit home. We are in the middle of becoming foster parents with the hope of providing a home for my niece who is currently in fostercare. It has been a heart wrenching experience of up and down roller coaster ride. Holding our breath for her birth mom hoping she will get it together, crying as she decided to relinquish her parental rights. The latest concerns about my niece's bio dad have really pulled me under. We have had our hands in the Lord's through this whole process but this last bit has overwhelmed me. Desperately praying His will be done, but I have felt like being pulled under the water lately. Thank you for the post I needed it! Sorry for all the information from a stranger, but thank you again.
