My oldest are on a mission trip
Yes, the sun isn't up yet.... Pirate Jacky (16) and her sister approach the vehicle...
Princess Sparky (12)
(not sure she is hip with the camera at this time in the morning ;-)

The sun is shining and we are gathering the bags before we divide the team up between all the caravan.
My two biggest girls are in Fairmont, West Virginia on a mission trip for a week. We rose early Saturday morning to meet the rest of the team at the church parking lot. This is my girls first mission trip with this youth group (this is a second youth group they belong to, not associated with our home church.) This is Princess Sparky's (12) first mission trip- I am glad her older sister is there to watch over her. The leadership of course is excellent, but knowing my girls are together brings me more peace.
Twelve adults are leading the team, a mix of parents and young adults. This time there are 23 teens going to help bless the people they will be outreaching to.
Task 1 is replacing siding on one side of a home (due to a fire next door)- for a widow, they hope to encourage the widow and her son, task 2 installing french drains , replacing windows, reattaching a deck and tree removal at another family's home. Task 3 is roofing the church where they have run a V.B.S. at for the past four years, bringing encouragement to them. The last task is running a VBS- which both my daughters will be helping with, when not on site with the other work.
I miss my girls, but continue to pray that they can bless those they serve and grow to love God more in the process. They will be back Saturday night, tired I am sure after a fast week of being poured out and a long silly 9 hour car ride home to the safety of home. I covet prayer for their ministry and their safe return-may God be glorified!

Hi Kimmie, I'm sure you will miss them, its nice that they are going on such a mission though, I look forward to hearing how it goes. Bob.
What a great opportunity for them! I think service missions are so important for this age. Hugs to mommy while the girls are away...
What a great experience for them! I went on a very similar trip to W. Virginia when I was about 15. The impact the ministry we did there still stays with me. I'll be praying for safety and personal encounters with Jesus while they are there!
SO wonderful! What a fabulous experience! They'll remember it for years and years!
Just ran across your blog. you have a lovely family.
That was my first thought when I saw the pictures... someone wasn't happy about that camera! :)
Kimmie, I'll pray for your girls.
And you.
