A Child's Heart Exposed
My sweet 4 year old Princess was chatting with me as we ran errands and were talking about Christmas.
This little one isn't a fan of Santa...she knows who he was and thinks its nice and all, but honestly she gets pretty ripped up that he is stealing Jesus' day.
She is pretty crazy about her Jesus and celebrating Him everyday.
But today she was talking about Christmas.
Her conversation wasn't the usual that you'd expect from a young child pre-Christmas. She wasn't interested in talking about a wish list or anything of that nature. She just wanted to talk about her Jesus.
Makes me tear up. Her Jesus is real. She truly loves him. She talks to him in prayer a lot. Not just a baby in a manger, but Savior and Lord of her heart.
Then she said...
"Mama, do you know what I want to be when I grow up?"
I was thinking hard, as to what her leanings were...recently she mentioned she might want to be a doctor to help people. I offered a doctor and told her she would have to be a very good student.
She was quiet and said she would read more and do school tomorrow (on Saturday).
But she said, "No Mama, do you know what I really want to be when I grow up?"
I was quiet, waiting. Not really sure of the answer, but carefully listening to my Ethiopian girl.
She said, "I really want to be a Christian."
She caught my heart and my breath away. Because I knew what she meant. She didn't mean that someday she would "become" a Christian. She meant she wanted to live always as a Christian. You know, one who loves and lives like one who loves Jesus. Totally radical, totally on fire, rocking the world (in whatever occupation He gave her) for Him.
Why? Because she loves Him...truly loves Him!
What more could this Mama ask for?
God is good.
I want to be a Christian too...do you?

She is that way because of you, Kimmie. You give the example.
Ah man...out of the mouth of babes. What an aspiration.
Just checking back for any new items you may have posted.
I left a note of invitation in the comment section on one of your past posts’ and invited you to follow my blog. Just in case it was accidently overlooked, just want you to know the invitation is still very much valid…and of course, I am already following your blog.
P.S. I hope you had a very Merry Christmas.
