Praying for America- Moving Mountains Monday!

Hi friends, how was your weekend?  Ready for another week set before us?  Well, do you have some time to join me in praying for our country?

Today I am going to be focusing on giving thanks.

 1 Chronicles 29:13

Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
 

Join me or add what the Spirit has put on your heart for today...

Father,

Today we come before You to thank you for Your Goodness!  Lord, You are so very good to us.  Your favor indeed does last a lifetime and Your mercies are new each day.  Father, we thank You for our nation, for it's leaders.  We thank You for Your protective and guiding hand on our behalf.  We thank You for the provision over our lives, our families and our friends. 

 Lord, we thank You for our churches, for our Pastors and for all they give to us, because of their love of You.  Holy Spirit, please help us through today to give You thanks.  Remind us of the good You have so generously poured out upon us. Enrich the ones You have called so they can teach us and grow us into a people who will follow You with all of our hearts.

 We ask for Your hand upon us today, upon our President and those in authority in our country.  Father, we have such abundance in America.  I am afraid that having so much has made us forget how very good You are to us.  Lord, so often it takes sickness, troubles or death to make us fall on our knees before You.  Forgive us, for our short memories of Your faithfulness and provision to us. 

  We know You have made our country great.  You have guided our steps and protected our borders.  Lord, we thank You for Your hand upon our military and that You are giving the leaders wisdom and power to keep this country free and safe. We thank You for Your generous Spirit and that we haven't even been faithful when You show Yourself so faithful on our behalf.

Thank You Father for Your love.  Help us to receive it and to live in it.  Lord, open our hearts before You, cleanse Your people and draw others into Your family by softening their hearts.  Make Your name bigger before our eyes. 

 Ultimately Lord, we confess our absolute need of Your power, love, and Presence in our lives, and in America.  We ask for You to move mightily and to glorify Your matchless name!

In Jesus' Name...

Praying for America (Moving Mountains Monday)

Hello my praying friends!

 Hope you had a sweet weekend and that you feel rested up and raring to go today!

What is on my heart for today's prayer focus is asking God to increase the Light.  As Believers we are filled with the Holy Spirit and are Light carriers.  As much as the world (and definitely America) feels dark and growing ever darker...I know that the Light is much more powerful than dark (evil).  So let's ask God to increase the Light, for a movement among His children (those saved by grace)

 to shine into the darkness.

Father,

 We thank you for another beautiful day and the opportunity to serve You in it.  We stand here today asking for You to bless our nation, to speak to Your people, to bring change by increasing the Light. 

 Lord, we know that the darkness is supposed to increase before Your return, but I also know that the Light bearers ought to be overpowering the darkness (by Your Spirit).  

Father, forgive us for complacency.  Forgive us for not living as Your children and actually being Light dispensers,  I ask that You give us a fresh touch of Your Spirit.  Revive Your people that we might live boldly and do Your will.  

Come Holy Spirit and bring change in America.  Let it begin in us and help us to take it out and make a difference. 

Please Father bless our President and the leaders You have put into place for this time.  Let their knees bend toward You and direct their steps today Lord God.

I pray too for those who are serving our country, put Your loving hand upon them and draw them to Yourself,  Father move mightily and bring Your beautiful name glory!

I ask this in Jesus' name.

Praying for America (and a little God story!)

READY?

Moving Mountains Monday, is a day where we purposefully set aside, to pray for our country.

  This is not a special club, but open to anyone who feels the desire to join us.  We pray for our President, we pray for our leaders, our towns, our schools, our neighborhoods...basically anything that sits down here within the boundries of the good U.S. of A. can be covered....no set order, just pray.

 For fun...and to remind my own heart of God's goodness...
the end of this, is a little sharing time of what God is up to behind the scenes in my life.

 

Let's pray for our nation today.  Let's allow some time to listen to the Holy Spirit and let Him lead us in how to stand in the gap for our beloved America.

 As I am a God-girl I know why the love note came yesterday of all days...

my Father wanted me to know He has doors i don't know about. 

He has plans that i haven't a clue about...

Well...

...my special best friend from childhood

 (Stori, I think we became friends around 12 years old? ) 

contacted me.

 And we have begun to play catch-up!

  We are both excited  (maybe me more so).  

Anyhow a little God story thrown in for fun!

*a little reminder that God knows what we are going through

 and that He is always watching out for those who love Him.

Moving Mountains Monday

Join me won't you, in praying for our country and its leaders today?  Take a few minutes to ask God to move in the hearts of Americans.  Let repentance rise in our spirits and let's make Jesus Lord. 

Of course in our own strength this is impossible, look at the mess our country is in, but with God it certainly is possible.  

All of us have time to pray, really we find time for whatever it is that motivates us.  Let us today, to be motivated to seek God on behalf of our country, for the sake of our country's peace, for our nations good.  

I would love to know you stopped by and that you are willing to bend your knee to our Father

 and stand in the gap for America and its future!

May His love fill your heart

 and may you walk in His fullness today. 

 I pray the time you spend with Him today would be rich and fruitful.

Good Morning my prayer warrior friends, ready to roll?

Praying for America:

Some things we can pray on today...

• for President Obama to have a divine encounter(s) with God this week. Salvation for him and then placing YOU as Lord-in all areas of his life!
• for wisdom to come to all our representatives within our 3 branches of the government.
• for God to begin to move freely .
• for others to join us in praying- rally the troops Lord!
• for more promptings on how to pray coming to each of us who commit this to the Lord.
• that the plans our leaders make come from God's heart and not the hearts of men.
• For moments of quiet for our President, that he would have times when he could hear God calling or directing him.
• for revival to come to our country, a turning back to being a nation that looks to God first and wants to honor him in being a country.
• help us to be the Church!!!

• LoVE that it would flow out of our hearts into our fingers and toes -action! 

2 Chronicles 7:14

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Praying For America (Moving Mountains Monday)

Ready, set, Go!

Or Ready, Fire, Aim! 

 (yes, I know it normally is ready, aim, fire...

 but as  activated Christians we are empowered,

 so thinking the order needs to be regrouped!)

Let's pray for America.

Today I am focusing the lens down a little, over the past weeks we have had a pretty broad lens and our aim has been on our President first and foremost.  Feeling led to change it up for today and pray for our families as Believers and Followers of Jesus.  And also to include all the other American Believers...

ready, fire, aim!

Father,

Lord we know You are good and that Your love endures forever.  We come today, as You have drawn us and invited us to be part of Your Family business.  Thank You for the opportunity to serve You in this praying for America: Moving Mountains Monday's. 

 You love not only us, but You care about America and the people that call themselves Americans. 

 Today Lord we lift up our families to You.  We ask that You strengthen us, fill us, speak to us and use us (all) for your purposes.

  Let it begin with us Lord. 

 Help us to take it into our churches, Lord into YOUR churches.  Help us to be the Church.  Help us to teach our children to serve You. Help us to teach them by our words and by our actions.  Lord, last night as I was looking at some old study notes, I saw something that really touched my heart.  It said that when we stand before You, it is not our words that will count, but our actions. 

 Lord, help us be moved to action.

Bless us, teach us, reform us, change us, use us and let it effect our families, our churches, our communities,

our love, 

and all of our actions.  

Let us be Kingdom builders and God seekers.  Let change start in our hearts and move to our hands and feet.

 Bless America Lord, do it to make Your name greater and to reach and save the lost.

Come Holy Spirit and have Your way. 

 Be glorified.

Praying For America (Moving Mountains Monday)

Sorry to post this late...

we are on week four of the flu and honestly I am pretty wiped. 

 Hope you remembered today that we are lifting up our country before our Father...if not, then its not too late, as it is still "today!"

Join me and add if you feel led:

Dear Father,

We come to You today asking You to put your hand upon our country.  We ask that You would bring hearts back to you.  Lord we need You to breathe life back into America and its people.  We ask for You to draw us, great and small, to You.  Give us all a desire to live our lives to obey and honor You. 

Father, today is Inauguration Day; we ask Lord that You would bless our President as he governs this country.  We ask that his heart would be in Your hands.  We pray that his leadership would not be of his own making, or that of his support staff, but divinely sent from heaven. Father, we ask that he seeks You, finds You, follows You and serves You while he is in office.  We pray blessing over his marriage, over his parenting his daughters, over his health, over his spiritual walk with You.  Lord, help him to govern this land and let him do it in a way that blesses Your heart.

Lord, stir our hearts to rise up and stand in the gap.  Help us Lord to be doers of Your Word and not hearers only.  Help us not grow weary, help us not to feel like what difference will our prayers make, considering the condition of our nation.  Your Word tells us that the prayers of the righteous overcome much, help us to cling to this and take action.

Strengthen us, guide us, lead us, direct us, as we seek You and pray for Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We thank You for this country, for your protection and provision.  We know that You have not left us, truth is Lord is that we at large, have left You.  Stir our hearts Lord, stir our communities, stir Your Church- we ask that you would send revival and that we would begin to see the changes that come when Your revival fire falls.

Thank You Father,

Sweet 16 (and praying for America!)

Today our Ethiopian daughter turns sixteen!

 Three years ago she arrived hardly speaking English, today she is a sassy firecracker of an American teenager.  Quick witted, serious about learning and ready for a good tease always.  Joy unspeakable to her mother and father.

Let's remember to stand in the gap for our country;

on my heart:

our President : for godly decision making and for knowing the the quiet guidance of the Holy Spirit

for our military:  for wisdom and strength of its leaders

for us-the people:  for a stirring within each American to turn back (really) to God

for judges and lawmakers:  an increasing draw to follow His ways and to honor Him

for our teachers:  the ability to teach that doesn't follow the pattern of this world, but follows the pattern of the Kingdom.  I pray for salvation for our teachers and that it would trickle down to our children.

My heart is praying for:

• our president
• the families dealing with the loss of children from Sandy Hook Elementary in CT
• for God to fall on the town of Newtown, that His Spirit would guide their healing (salvations Lord!)
• for a revival spirit to fall upon hearts in America (a coming back to the Lord!)
• for a renewal of a desire to pray in our homes and churches
• for fresh direction from heaven for each of us 
• for time in the Word daily  -drawing us in to His heart for us!

Moving Mountains Monday-Prayer

A reminder to pray for our country and it's leaders today!  Please leave me a note to let me know that you'll be joining me today.

I am off to say good-bye to my oldest homemade daughter...she is moving across the country today.  Her husband who was stationed in Qatar will be on the other side waiting to see her after a LONG 6 months of separation.  

Tears of joy, tears of sadness in having to let go...tough day.

Welcome to Moving Mountains Monday...
a day where we set aside time to pray for America!

Will you join me, as the Bible clearly says that Jesus will join us if two or more are gathered together in His Name.  I'm here...please leave me a note to tell me that you are coming along today and inviting Jesus into our prayer time.  ;-)  (that makes me happy!)

Please feel free to email me prayers, I will gladly post them here, so that others can see how the Spirit is leading us in this.

Father,

Thank You for this new day.  Thank You that You hear our prayers and that You move in Power as we lift our hearts towards You.

Lord we have heavy hearts in regards to the situation of our country.  America is not the God fearing country that it began as.  Lord, our leaders are not keeping You first- please turn hearts of our leader towards You.  Soften the men and women that You have put into leadership positions in our great nation.  Lord, please let a spirit of repentance move in America.  Let us see a change in our governmental leaders, let it flow from Your throne from the greatest to the least.  

We lift up President Obama to You.  We ask that You draw him to Yourself.  We ask that You lead him and guide his decision making.  We ask that Lord You would make him Yours (if he isn't already) and that he would bow his knee to no other.  Father, bless his decision making, let his wisdom come from You.  Give him protection and favor that could only come from You.  Lead him in righteousness for Your Name.  

I pray for his family to be under Your mighty hand, that they too would know You, love You and serve You alone.  

Father, I also lift up the foster care system to You.  It is a broken system and not running very well.  I lift up their ways to You and ask for You to move powerfully on behalf of the orphans within their control.  

Father, change can come through Your wisdom.  Change can come as we seek You.  You can raise up an army from these children, an army for Your plans and purposes.  Father pour out Your love into this system and let us see reforms for the bettering of how they serve these ones who belong to You.  Lord, I also ask that You would raise up Believers who would step into this foster care system to do your Kingdom work.  I ask for social workers who love You.  I ask for boldness for them and great wisdom and favor like You gave both Joseph in leadership and Daniel; do the same within this system.  Move mightily oh Lord God.

Father, we pray for Your Church, Your people in America.  Help us not to be calloused in our ways or our prayer lives.  Help us to be stirred to action Lord.  Help us to be the difference in this dark world.  Let us not wait for others to do the work that You have asked us to do.  Let Your people begin to step out to new areas of ministry for You.  Let us not grow weary in doing good, let us be on fire for You God.

I also would ask Lord that You stir your people towards adoption and orphan care.  If the Church would follow You in this- not only would they be blessed for obeying Your Word, but they would be indeed raising up a generation for Your Kingdom...an army for the Lord.

Father hear our prayer and answer us Lord.

We ask and come to You in Jesus name, amen!

Praying For America (Moving Mountains!)

I am a day behind, but God is still at work. My family has been involved in some serious prayer in regards to adoption...somehow Monday slipped by us.

 My sweet friend Rhonda shared this prayer with us for Moving Mountains Monday (Praying for America!),

^“1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— ² for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ³ This is good, and pleases God our Savior…” -1 Timothy 2:1-3

Father, help us to understand how to pray for our President, Vice President, and all of our leaders that trickle down from there.  Give us more understanding of what is needed and what to ask for ......I surely need much, much more understanding and direction in this.  Give us humility  and love toward our leaders and help those of us who would have chosen another Presidential candidate to now invest ourselves in prayer all the more.    Help us to heal from our disappointment and to look to You to guide our nation, our leaders,  and our lives. 

So today and this week, I ask you to guide our leaders.  I ask for you to lead them to justice, to wisdom, to  understanding as to how to govern and make decisions that  benefit this nation.  I ask that you would break the power  and strongholds that our enemy has  built within our government.    I ask that our leaders would be filled with a spirit of cooperation, wisdom and  justice as they work this week.   I  pray that they would  listen to Godly wisdom and heed it in all that they do. 

I ask You to raise up more who would pray!

Moving Mountains Monday (praying for America!)

Hey friends!

Thanks for all of you who said you would set time away on Mondays to pray for our country.  I think it would be awesome for some of you to share your prayers.  Would you write out your prayer and send it along to me...(see my sidebar for my email).  I will happily post each prayer (maybe over the next few weeks depending on how many of you are willing ...think there are 7 of us who said, "YES!")

I will start us today...

please continue to lift up whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to throughout today or this week!

Father,

We thank you that You have put it into our hearts to join together for our nation.  Thank You Lord for allowing us to live in this land that was founded so that we could worship You unhindered. 

 Lord, today we lift up President Obama, we ask for You to work in His life to draw him to Your plans and purposes.  We pray his decisions and life would please You.  We pray that You give him a soft heart that would be yielding to Your ways. Lord we ask that you give him a hunger for righteousness. 

 Father, we aren't sure what his beliefs are. We have heard many conflicting things in regards to his faith in You. We pray that he would know You as both Lord and Savior.  Let his heart be undivided before You God.

I pray also Lord for the rest of the government employees that serve our country.  I ask that You would move in the hearts of these men and women, as You have done in days past.  I pray that a revival would break out among them and that they would undoubtedly know You are in their midst always. 

Father, we know all things are possible with You and that You alone set leaders into their positions.  Guide their lives and hearts in ways that would bring our country back into a firm unshakable trust in you.  Let our government be clay in Your mighty hands.  Save America Lord God!

Lord, continue to stir our hearts to stand in prayer.  Help us to know how to pray and remind us of the "Yes" we have said to You.  Father I confess already that the devil has tried to keep me from serving You in this today.  He has tried to set so many other things in my path today and slowly the day began to slip away.  I thank You for the reminder to get this going today and that You indeed lead and guide Your people as they submit to You.

Lord, glorify Yourself in America and in all of our lives.  Make Your name glorious and known here in this great land.  

We thank You Father in Jesus' name, amen.

Moving Mountains Mondays (come on!)

As I thought on recent events (election) in my country, and the number of people who have recently come to me saying they were seriously concerned about our nations future (think: worry).  I took it to God and asked what I (we) do.  Luckily, God had me away for 4 days with my Knight (think: relax and hear God!) in the wonderful far away land of Denver (see above picture). 

 On said trip the Lord showed me a vision of me gathering others who would stand in the gap armed with Matthew 17:20:

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith (trust) as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Now most of you who have hung around here know that I am  a praying girl.   So this isn't too much of a stretch for me, but I think perhaps in seeking God for my country that I find it a bit out of my box.  However, I know that we won't stand in this alone, but that we will be led clearly by the Holy Spirit in the how to's.  God can even use a non-political girl to move the course of a nation! Anyone feeling they want to join me in this exciting new adventure? I am sick of those who just complain about the situation of our country.  I am sick of people who are no longer watching the news, due to the fact that it robs them of sleep and sets them in the course of worry.  I am tired of hearing that a spirit of heaviness is settling on God's children.  We are told that the prayers of the righteous overcome much and that we have the power in us to move mountains, thanks to God! Come on you Mountain Movers...let's get busy! Today's prayer: (join me won't you...leave me a comment so I know I am not praying alone!) Father, We come today together in this place to thank You that You are still on the throne.  We thank you Lord, that You are sovereign over all and that regardless of the country's situation, nothing is too big to ask You to step into.   Father, we need You to move in America.  We need to have You bring repentant hearts to our nation and to it's leaders.   Lord, we ask that You move in our President, and that he is brought to his knees.  We believe You harden and soften hearts Lord and that You can do the same in President Obama. We ask that he would submit his life into Your hands, that his knee would bow to You and that we would see a change in His course of actions in regards to how he leads this mighty nation.  Our country is a mess and I am pretty sure it all stems from the fact that we have removed You from guiding and directing our steps.  Forgive us Lord and have mercy on us.  We ask that you would move mightily in our midst and that you would comfort us.   Forgive us our sins Lord, for they are many. Lord, gather those you would to stand on these Mountain Moving Mondays...help us to hear Your voice and pray as You lead us through Your Holy Spirit.  Come Holy Spirit come! We know that all things are possible for You and that as we seek You.  You will help us.Our trust (faith) is in You!  in Jesus' name we pray, Amen! p.s.- if you are one of the Christians who has been asking God to use you or what it is you can do in the Body of Christ...rise up and take a stand with me!
